Would be cool if the Suns added Ron Adams to Hornacek's coaching staff. Guy could maybe be able to help improve Bledsoe, Goodwin, Tucker and Marshall's shooting.

Adams, who had been working on one-year deals since leaving the Thunder, consistently ranked among leaders in voting for the league’s top assistants on the annual general managers’ poll the NBA releases. Players praised Adams for his developmental work, particularly in improving form and release points on jump shots.

It would be hard to lure him to Phoenix though.

But Bonner has arc on his shot. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, some of the best shooters in NBA history have had horrible forms. Bird, Reggie, Iverson, Pierce, etc.

Some very good stuff in there; probably the best I've seen from any Suns FO person this offseason. I like what I'm hearing. The Suns should always play fast, so I'm happy about that. I like the fact that he's a numbers guy, and I agree with Horny that shot charts are very valuable, and that long 2's are just the worst. His thoughts on midrange jumpers are interesting. The "stat geek" movement basically says to never take anything but shots at the rim or corner 3's, and definitely never take 2-point jumpers. But as Zach Lowe points out, the elite defensive teams don't really give up those shots. And since the elite defenses are typically the ones you face in the playoffs, it's smart to be prepared to hit some midrange jumpers here and there. They should be Plan B after better shots get taken away, but it sounds like Horny agrees that they're only a backup option.

Hornacek also sounds very realistic about Eric Bledsoe, both by himself and playing alongside Dragic. No promises of anything, but a feasible plan of how they'll co-exist offensively and defensively. Personally, I think that on offense, Goran will basically be PG and Bledsoe SG, but with Bledsoe handling the ball much more along the lines of Kobe or James Harden than Jason Richardson or Jared Dudley. Defensively, it sounds like it's going to be very matchup-dependent as to who guards whom. Which is the case with every team all the time, really.

Anyway, this is probably the most optimistic I've been about Hornacek as HC specifically or the Suns in general, so I like it!

It was fun going back and looking at Hornacek's stats when he played with us. I thinking I might have forgotten why I liked him so much. His final season with us, he averaged 20/5/5. :o Opps, forgot the two steals per game as well that season.

Dont think its worth of its own thread so I will post it here....

Just saw the Mercury fired their coach, Corey Gaines. Wasnt there a contingent here who wanted that dude to be the Suns coach?
