I hope it is that (and I'm good with it if it is) and not a case of too many agents trying to get their share.

He's a one way player that gets injured too much, 12 mil a year should be an automatic contract signature.
I hope they sign and trade if the agent doesn't stop tripping balls.

This is looking worst as time goes by... maybe a sign and trade will be a better option.

Hmm. With Pek showing no loyalty to his own national team, who can expect he would show any loyalty to the Wolves? The guy is starting to come off as a big douche bag. Work those trade lines, Flip.

I think it could actually show loyalty to us as he doesn't want any wear and tear on his body and wants to be fresh for our season.

I have no hard evidence but since the Olympics I just kind of gotten the impression Pek doesn't give a crap about international basketball anymore. For some reason he just came off that way to me so I could see him using this as a way out. I could also see him needing the 15 million to comfortably purchase the special meat he likes to eat in large quantities. That stuff aint cheap.

Love what the wolves are doing, just stick to 4 yr/48mil.

Realistically, the highest he would get in the market is around 13.5 anyways and that is pushing it.

He will eventually come around and sign a 4yr/50 imo if they just don't budge from 4 yr/48

What if the Wolves are actually low-balling Pek and his agent floated out the 4/$50 because Flip doesn't want Pelovic risking injury in the EuroBasket!? :o

Pek S&T for D. Jordan + Filler (1 of Reddick, Dudley or Crawford).

+Jordan next to Love would be nice fit, arguably better then Pek/Love duo (Pek is better player).
+Jordan contract expires when Love option is up.
+Filler would be added SG depth and shooting.

That +1 would definitely be Crawford if the Clippers get to choose.

Dieng is better than D.Jordan

I really like the fit with DJ next to Love but Clips aren't getting him for that. Too little value and DJ still gets paid 11 mil this year and 11.4 next year. I would rather just sign Pek to a 13-14 mil deal instead.

I hope you don't believe that. A rookie who hasn't played 1 minute of NBA ball. Who carries his own set of warts.

I understand having optimism for a rookie/player, but if Dieng can at least be as good as D Jordan, wolves would be VERY happy. If he surpasses D Jordan they will be ecstatic. But right now he carries just as many odds of such as being out of league in 1-2 years.

We have barely heard a thing from Pek throughout the whole process and we don't even know if the $15 mil rumour is correct OR if that's the opinion of Pek or the the agent himself. Bit early to start name calling.

I am in the same boat as Vuc N Pek. Huge Pek fan from his time in Partizan and started following Wolves closely since he joined and love the team now. Just wanted to let you know guys about interview with him that i read about this morning.

I guess he felt obligated to explain why is he not going to play for his NT so he gave an interview. Of the important stuff, he said that he really wanted to play but can't because the contract is not signed yet and, therefore, he's not insured so he can't risk it. He said he has an unlimited trust in his agent and that his agent told him that contract this big usually takes time and that's the reason it is not done yet, even though free agency started 5 weeks ago. He also said that his agent told him not to train with anybody, including the NT because risk is too high. Finally he mentioned that they are negotiating 4 or 5 year contract.

So not much new stuff if anything. I guess there are talks about 5-year contract and it sounded to me that agent is doing all the work and he's trusting him to do whatever and is not involved at all. $15 mill is too much in my opinion though. Hopefully they settle soon...

I think if we sign Pek the contract should be front loaded paying him more the first couple of years and then staggering down towards the end of the deal. This way we pay for him while he hopefully is still rising, while then have a friendly contract for the remaining years if things do not work out. Basically the opposite of how Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik's contracts are, paying them $5,225,000 this year and then the final year$14,898,938.
Wolves should do the opposite what Houston has done. Easier to trade 5 million than 15.

As long as it's not more than 4/48 I'm okay with it. Not sure if it is also within the parameters of our cap to do such things. Those that are knowledgeable can confirm if we can do that. Would be a great idea actually.

Thanks for the info. As other speculated, it could be that Pek is dragging this out to miss NT ;D

I'm disappointed by hearing a 5 year may be involved- more so because Mr. Love ain't gonna be happy about that, even if it was less money per year. Everyone is agreeing that $15 is too much and I just hope that if that continues to be the case, Flip Saunders gets fed up and just give him the QO and end the game.

Except that's not what their cap figures are. They are getting roughly 8 mil each of the 3 years, not the 5/5/15.

Kirk Hinrich had a contract such as the one I'm suggesting
When he first signed a long term deal with the bulls
