Just watched this video on the Bucks website, and it was really cool. It shows Larry Sanders and an assistant coach working w/ him. Also, it has some of what Larry Drew thinks of him, and some great quotes from Yanni himself. Even w/ Paschke hosting it I sill highly recommend watching it.

It seems like Sanders is really taking his leadership role seriously. Going to summer league to help, and now working w/ Giannis, it's pretty awesome to see.

Could we finally be seeing the culture change that was talked about when Hammond was hired 6 years ago?

By the way, I'm so much happier w/ Larry Drew than I was with Skiles. I know things could change after watching him coach, but I love his attitude.

This may have already been posted, but I saw this on NBA.com:

http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/07/31/larry-drews-giannis-a-scouting-report/

NBA.com Guy: With his unique skill set, how do you as a coach envision using him?

Larry D: He’s a terrific ball-handler for his size. He handles the basketball very well. When I first watched him play, the first thing I said is he’s a point forward because he has size (6-9) and he handles the ball in the open court. If he continues to improve there, I could see him being somewhat of a point forward. Somebody that can initiate an offense, somebody that can be in the middle of a fastbreak. He certainly looks comfortable doing that. He hasn’t done it on our level yet, though. That’s something that we’re going to have to nurture along. He certainly has the tools. He certainly has the skills. One thing I did notice about him, when he is in the open court with the basketball, he’s not just a gifted passer, but he’s a willing passer. He doesn’t try to over-dribble. He gives it up in a timely fashion. His skill is very unique and what he does for his size. I see him as a guy you can possibly put at the top of the floor, somewhere he’s allowed to handle the basketball, because he certainly, for his size, does a good job with that.”

Also, this fluff piece about Larry. I didn't know he's got a son:

Hopefully, they totally got away from that concept for a while but it does seem to be a renewed focus.

On a side note, before he got there some guy working for the bucks was discussing this season with a fan...

I trust nothing the Bucks say at this point, but it is sounding more and more like a tank season.

Why would the Bucks commit right now to the PT for any player?

Kind of need training camp first right?

I'm sure the guy working the Bucks tent at state fair knows how much each guy is going to play.

Speaking of the State Fair, when I was there last Friday they had the free throw game where you can win a Bucks bubblehead among other prizes. Of course the bobblehead was Brandon Jennings. When I asked for a different player they said I could have Monta Ellis (not sure if they were joking or not). Real nice, Bucks...

Yeah, I stopped at the booth at the Urban Island Party and got a coffee travel mug that I have gotten a few times. Can't really complain cause its free but I couldn't help to think it was a dumb promotion. It was a waste of money cause I felt I didn't get anything of value nor would I display it or use it to promote the Bucks. I wish they would think outside the box and maybe had out food vouchers or a $5 concession card (non-combine-able). It would cost less than the random stuff they hand out, make me more inclined to go the game, and I would probably spend money when I get a beer with my drink. It seems typical Bucks to waste money to 'compete' but unwilling to spend enough to make it worth while. Instead I have a cheap mug I'll probably just throw away.

I don't see Knight being okay with playing 25 minutes a game. I see him above 30 easily.

Nice, thanks for posting. It really seems like Larry is embracing not only the leadership role, but also from the Summerleague video he's become and ambassador for the Team/City.

Agreed. I know I've said this before, but do not underestimate the impact of us finally getting rid of the players (and coaches) who have negative personal baggage with a me-first attitude, and having a squad of hard-working guys who all want to pull the cart in the same direction.

Chemistry both on the court and in the locker room is important for any team but for us it is huge as we are trying to build a team where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

You know, Brandon was like that in the beginning too and Sanders is just as enigmatic as Jennings. I know it's early and I love Sanders too, but don't suggest the situation isn't capable of changing quickly no different than it has with previous "stars".

Disagree Nebs - I see Jennings as someone who was told he was the man since he was young. I think he developed an attitude that he's better than everyone even before he was pro. Larry had a more humble basketball path and thus less of a I'm the man attitude. Not saying it can't change but I see it much less likely
