There are two spot left. Ennis and Big V fill those two spots for the moment. Ennis has not been signed but he is still in relation with the team. Drop those two for either Big Al and D Jones or bring in Ivan / Mo Williams most likely for the last two spots. Heat already have 5 guards. Heat need to keep ennis or bring in a sf/ Guard combo type just to replace him off the bench in case if one of those five guards go down/ need rest. Someone with size who can handle the ball. Add in one more big man in case Birdman / Oden need rest. I dont think Big Al can do that.

Ship Ennis to Europe
Sign either Dahntay Jones or Al harrington or Ivan or Mo Williams

Sounds good to me :)

Ira
The Miami Heat are unlikely to add another big man to their roster.
The Heat have Chris Bosh, Chris Andersen, Udonis Haslem, Greg Oden and Joel Anthony as their bigs.
The Heat also are unlikely to retain Jarvis Varnado

Roster (by position only)
Birdman/Oden/Joel
Bosh/UD/Rashard(/sf)
Bron/Battier/
Wade/Jesus/JJ
Chalmers/Cole

That leaves us with 13 guys, the ability to add one more before the season and a chance to pick up someone later on. I wouldn't be opposed to adding a dirtbag like Dahntay Jones or another solid defender like Ronnie
Brewer, this team is pretty deep.

Yeah, I've always wanted the Heat to acquire a combo guard who's gotten worse every year he's been in the league, is injury prone, and shot a stunning 37% last year with 29% from 3.
I didn't say I wanted him on the heat. You called him a scrub with no offensive game. I was just telling you that was false. Injury prone is right but he had some upside.

He is a scrub with no offensive game. He's a "scoring" guard that sucks at scoring.

I like dhantay jones, but i dont think we add another guy until maybe the deadline. Every move going forward is going to be with the tax in mind.

Patience is a virtue. I don't like any remaining free agents. Wait it out, I say. Someone will be cut and we pick them up midseason.

Suprised we're giving up on Varnado. Not because i liked his game, because i thought we'll get rid of Joel and Jarvis will be his replacment.

If we drop Varnado, I dont think we'll trade Joel away.

Having only Bosh (not a Center) Birdman (can only give limited minutes) and Oden (who knows if he'll ever play again) on the roster..that's a thin Center rotation.

This surprised me. So many question marks in the big man rotation, I thought for sure we'd add one more guy. If we are stashing Ennis overseas and ditching Varnado I wouldn't be surprise if that's it...carry only 13 guys in the season, minimize the tax exposure.

Heat should go for T Wiliams then. He is like a Hybrid of Wade and Lebron. Good Ball handling , great D, etc.

What you quoted was the RealGM editors interpolating an opinion they then went on to report as hard news. They have a bad habit of doing this when creating their headlines.

Ira's actual statement was really just a response to a blog question where he offered his opinion on the roster...

Q: Would it not be a good idea for the Heat to pick up Fesenko, considering Oden's knees? -- Michael, Orlando.

A: Love it. Oden hasn't even had time to unpack and we're talking about someone stepping in to fill his role? The Heat have plenty of height available to suffice while getting a read on Oden. I highly doubt you'll see another big man signed (or, for that matter, Jarvis Varnado retained).

I honestly think odom is a good pick up. I think only us and The lakers can motivate him. But I would rather pick up Stephen Jackson and leave the last spot for a mid season pick up

Jackson is a headcase who will create problems if he doesn't get enough play time.

The dude is 6'6. Plays SG/ SF well off the bench which is what the Heat would want out of him,

Obviously the Heat are either keeping Ennis or going for a dude in the market that is better than him at the G / F position. Like a Energy guy at that spot. Big V might not get called back .

Jarvis (Justin) Varnado and Terrell Harris have more rings than Barkley...
