Favorite non-Wizard? (after Kevin Durant)

Post#1 » by stevemcqueen1 » Tue Aug 6, 2013 6:23 pm

From reading all of the talk about KD, it seems like he might actually be the fan base's favorite player period.

Who else would the fan base totally embrace if he came here? A survey is necessary.

So who is your favorite non-KD, non-Wizard player? Feel free to name multiple names. Doesn't have to be big names.

For me it's Dirk and Duncan.

But I think the player that the fan base would most readily embrace after KD is Kevin Love.

Duncan, but I wouldn't sit him down in a room to negotiate w/ EG.

A tie between Nash and Harden.

Agree with these as my favorites, with Duncan and Tony Parker close behind. I just like guys that just play the game without too much bravado or antics. One reason why John Stockton is my all-time favorite player.

Duncan, Dirk, P. George, Westbrook, M. Gasol, Z-Bo, Mike Conely, Larry Sanders, Favors/Kanters.

Sans for Dirk/Z-Bo, I like two way players who have good defensive potential. I like "ugly" basketball I guess.

Nobody playing today.

My favorite player period is/was Magic Johnson.

Edit: I forgot about Scottie Pippen.

Strangely enough, I couldn't stand the Bulls/Jordan but loved Pippen.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

KG is probably my favorite player outside of the Wizards.

Don't like any of the players today. Most of them come off as entitled whiny punks. Give me the old guards like Duncan, KG, Webber, Barkley, Nash, Kidd etc. The only superstar I like today is Durant. Very humble guy. John Wall is really growing on me too. I also really like the rehabilitated Ron Artest. Really likeable.

Durant is my fave non-Wizkid easily. I'd even buy a Durant jersey if OKC's kit wasnt so boring or ugly. Maybe ill get a Seattle one.

Kenneth Faried
Serge Ibaka
Dirk Nowitzki
Joakim Noah
Kyrie Irving
Kevin Love
Paul George
Marc Gasol
Steph Curry
James Harden
Tim Duncan
Tony Parker
Andrew Bogut

Those are all guys who I either respect for their game, for their personality or a combo of the two. Theres probably more but thats just off the top of my head, thinking through all of the teams rosters.

I actually really enjoyed watching the Warriors this year, fun team.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Nobody looked like they had more fun playing the game.

I loved watching David Thompson and Clyde Drexler when they were in college.

Sidney Moncrief really was amazing.

Jeff Ruland with the basketball near the hoop. You can't even hope to contain him.

Nate Archibald and KP - Kevin Porter.

E's turnaround jumper and Lou's sky hook.

Today? I guess Duncan, Parker, and KG?

Dominique Wilkins. Missed shots on purpose just to grab a rebound and dunk in your face. George Gervin was poetry in motion.

Current players I would have to say Paul George and Stephen Curry.

Interesting responses so far. A lot of the names were unexpected.

My favorite retired player is Barkley. But that's only come about as an adult, watching him on TNT. I didn't root for him as a kid.

My favorite players as a kid were Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway.

Steph Curry. I haven't been the same since we traded for Randy Foye.

Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard (loved how unphased he seemed during the Finals), Roy Hibbert, Pau Gasol, Andrei Kirilenko.

I've loved watching Tony Parker just cook people the last couple years. I never thought he'd become this good even after he won a Finals MVP.

Derrick Rose
Dirk Nowitzki
Stephen Curry
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Even though he's got a bad rep in certain circles, Rondo is another player who I enjoy watching and who's unique game I admire.
