2013-14 NBA Schedule Release Day: August 6

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Mon Aug 5, 2013 1:43 am

The highly anticipated NBA schedule will be released on Tuesday, August 6th at 6pm. NBA TV will have Live coverage of the release.

Interested to see who we open up with, who we play home opener, how tough our first 10-or so games look like to the naked eye and how much love we'll get from ESPN and TNT following last season's playoff run?

I would like less NBATV on Tuesdays and more ESPN, TNT, and ABC the rest of the week.

I would love to see them on TV here in Cleveland. ABC, ESPN, or TNT. No NBATV. Can't find that anywhere around here.

Grrrr...7 of those games (including opening night I think) are on NBA TV which I don't get. Thanks, Charter!

I concur. This is seven games that I won't be able to watch, even though I will spring for League Pass again. My cable company doesn't offer NBATV. I shouldn't be penalized for not subscribing to a channel that is unavailable where I live! The NBA needs to be just a little less greedy and let everyone who subscribes to League Pass see all the games, even the ones on NBATV.

OTOH, glad to see that the Pacers will finally get more exposure on ESPN and TNT, though still nothing on ABC.

Do you subscribe to League Pass through your cable company on your TV, or through their internet access?

I'm thinking of doing the internet access this year and watching it via my AppleTV, but I've heard poor reviews of League Pass' streaming.

I get it through the Internet because that is the only option available to me here in mid-Missouri. I'd say the streaming works fine 90-95 percent of the time, on my computer anyway. But getting it through cable would be better unless it is way more expensive or something.

No Christmas day game...

The NBA schedulers are stupid for this omission considering the Heat and Pacers recent series broke viewership records on TV. Instead they schedule them against the Knicks.

I don't really know what's up with the ones who did the schedule. I am expecting another rant from Hibbert in the postseason.

Do you have any issues with blackouts? I know nationally televised and locally televised games are blacked out, but I've read horror stories of the league pass guys saying it's a 350 mile range blackout (meaning in Cleveland, I'd be blacked out of Pacers games). Then, when they black out a game anyway, they just say it's 350 miles from anywhere that's blacked out (meaning effectively 700 mile range blackout). Also, I've read there's absolutely NO customer service.

Any of these true?

Also, do you stream on your computer, or do you throw it on a tv somehow?

I live sort of in the country and have DirecTV. I get the NBA channel and FoxSports IN. sometimes the games are blacked out on NBATV but the local broadcast on Fox is not - or maybe it is the other way around. in any event, the games are available to me on one channel or the other.

Yeah, I have no availability of NBATv, and my Fox affiliate is Cleveland, so plenty of Cavs games. Last year was a lot of unseemly streams that shall not be named here. I'd like to replace that with easier, close to HD quality on my big screen, and a remote control.

I stream on my computer. My attempts to view League Pass on my television through my TV Internet connection have all been unsuccessful, but I'm no techie, so it's possible that someone more knowledgeable might be able to figure out how to do it.

All games on national TV, including NBATV, are blacked out. I don't have to worry about local blackouts or even the 350-mile range since the closest NBA city is farther away than that for me. I'm not sure whether or not the 350-mile thing is accurate. It's true that customer service is poor--they do acknowledge emailed complaints, but so far never in a way that has helped me address what I was complaining about.

League Pass via computer streaming is far from ideal, but it's a lot better than nothing. Personally, though, I am hoping against hope for another hockey strike this year. Last winter the St. Louis Fox affiliate filled the empty St. Louis Blues hockey slots with broadcasts of the Pacers! God was I happy, especially after years of suffering through a Fox Sports Midwest affiliate that showed all the ads for Pacers games but never the games themselves (sheer torture...) But alas, the strike got solved and then it was no more Pacers.
