Yankees (56-52) @ San Diego (51-59): Disturbing truths

Open letter to Brian Cashman: You can play the card that you were against re-signing A-Rod & Rafael Soriano but I am wondering if re-signing CC Sabbathia to those numbers was as wise. Sabbathia is 9-10 with an ERA 4.78. For all of my issues with those bone heads, they were more productive than Carl Pavano, Kei Igawa, Michael Pineda, which comes damn close to what is owed to Alex. Bottom line, don't throw stones in a glass house, there are no secrets in New York.

Yanks got thumped 7-2 by the Pads. I just think the offense has too many problems. No power from the right side. Too many guys coming off the DL that need at bats to get it together. This comes at a time when every win is vital.

Outside of Kuroda and the quiet performance of Nova coming off the DL the rotation is going to need some work.

I guess Hughes can't pitch in big ballparks. San Diego was one of the teams I hoped would want to trade for this flyball (HR) generator.

I think Hughes is a UFA.

Nova has really turned it around after some time on the DL. Kuroda has been a rock.

I have no clue what's going on with Pineda. Every report is, he's close to coming back. Close. Ok, what does close mean?

Well he's shut down for 7-10 days due to soreness. MRI came back negative.
