He's great! A little worried about his durability, but I guess every player has the same chance to get injured. He's healthy right now and that's a better start than last season! I have him in one of my keeper leagues :D Question is, where are you drafting him in the 1st round? Late right?

Pick number 10

Didn't see that you already drafted him. Nice pick!

1. Spillar has a lot of upside this upcoming season. He's going to be the Bills featured back, and early reports speculate that he might get 30+ touches a game. Lynch has a lot of mileage on him, and with Rusell Wilson progressing as a QB you've got to figure that they'll start moving the ball through the air alot more. As for Calvin you can't really go wrong with him, but WR is really deep this year. Doesn't make sense to keep him from my perspective.

2. Keep Vernon, he's going to be the most productive TE this upcoming season with Gronk sidelined. He's guaranteed to see more targets with Crabtree out almost the entire season.

Thanks for the comments. The ONLY thing holding me back from picking Spiller over Lynch right now is touchdowns. Lynch should see 10-13 while Spiller will hope to see around 7-8 total TDs. My draft is this weekend so I have a lot of thinking to do.

Also are you in a ppr league? If so, Spillar should get the nod without any doubt.

Well, looks like Spiller will be getting the ball until he 'throws up' each week, so I think I'm picking him now. He's younger, more explosive and now will be a main back in terms of touches. The sky is the limit for him!

Anywhere from the 5th overall pick and down is totally acceptable for Trent I am really high on him.

I would like to get some feedback on this tier of running backs Forte, Chris Johnson, MJD, Ridley, Bush and Gore which of these guys can have RB1 potential as a second round pick?

Ridley-As long as Brady is calling the plays in NE, no Pats back should ever go that high.

Bush-Won't duplicate what he did last season because he's going to get fewer touches. He's worth a look at in a ppr leagues but definitely not in the first two rounds. He's a good flex play imo, not a slot 1 or slot 2 rb.

Gore-Niners will probably have true running backs by committee this upcoming season. Expect more third down play for LeMichael James, and if Lattimore is healthy he's guaranteed to steal some carries.

Really comes down to three guys-CJ2K, MJD, and Forte. I'd take Forte out of the equation because Michael Bush steals 90% of the goal line carries. You cant really go wrong with either CJ or MJD, both guys will get the lions share of the work. I'm inclined to pick MJD just because I've heard him say more than once that he feels really good heading into this season. CJ is too much hit or miss for my liking; Jones Drew has proven to be far more consistent over the span of their careers.

thats a really good pickup, I have a strong feeling he's going to produce like a late first round/early second round selection

I thought so too, I took advantage of the fact that some of the guys in my league went with their heart instead of their brain and made some stupid picks as a result (one guy got Brady in round 2 and someone else took Matt Ryan also in round 2). I really felt that MJD was deserving of the late 3rd round pick that I selected him with, a lot more deserving than some of the RBs that went ahead of him like Gore, Mcfadden, Steven Jackson, and Forte.

Didn't read the above posts so I don't know if anyone else said this, but I'm definitely targeting CJ Spiller last year. He was second in YPC last year next to Adrian Peterson and I got destroyed by him on multiple occasions and he was splitting carries.

Hoping I can snag him.

In standard scoring rankings I have:

Forte
Ridley
Chris Johnson
Bush
MJD
Gore
I'm not afraid to take Forte with a mid 2nd round pick, or CJ and Ridley with a late 2nd. I'd take Bush and MJD with a 3rd rounder, and Gore in the 4th. That's my opinion of course. I trust Forte, Ridley and CJ more than I do MJD. If MJD is completely healthy, then he'll be a steal in the 3rd, but I'm not taking him with a 2nd round pick when I can get guys like AJ Green, Dez Bryant, Marshall, CJ and Ridley.

Good luck, his stock should be way up after the Bills' Offensive Coordinator announced that he'd be getting "carries until he threw up." I'd honestly take him with the 3rd pick behind AP and Foster at this point.

I've been prone to taking QBs in the first round lately, IIRC I took Brees 1st round and it worked beautifully. I think if I have the choice of Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and CJ Spiller, I can't pass up Brees and Rodgers in the 1st.

It seems like the new trend is to get RBs in the 1st round, but I just don't see it I guess.

What makes Arian Foster the consensus #2? I personally like Jamal Charles and CJ Spiller over him.

He hasn't been the consensus two for a couple weeks now. In mocks I'm seeing him go behind Martin most of the time. I'd probably take him 5th after AP, Charles, Martin, and Spiller. Foster just has a lot of question marks for an early first round pick. I've seen some writers put him as low as 7.

That's interesting because I saw him as high as #2 last week, and no lower than 5th. If he dropped to 7 I would be all over that.

There is zero chance I draft Forte. His goalline touches are going to be severely diminished with Bush on roster and I fully expect carries to be going to Bush for TDs.

Forte will get more receptions this year... but I just don't see enough TDs from him.

I guess it's just me with the Foster at 2 thing. I just really love what he did last year and he doesn't look like he'll slow down any time soon

Ya 7th for Foster is too low. His upside is still huge.

Foster was great fantasy wise last year but the guy has been flirting with 400 touches 2 out of the last 3 years (would have been around 400 in 2011 if he didn't miss games) and has seen his YPC drop from 4.9 to 4.4 to 4.1. That and him already being hurt and the main red flags. I think he'll be fine this year when he's on the field because he'll likely still be a TD machine but he is a health risk.

Who do you stash on the IR if you have to choose 1? Who has the best chance to come back and help a fantasy team?

The knock on Foster is that his YPC have gone down each of the last two seasons and last year it was just a notch about 4, which isn't great.

But Foster also doesn't have a serious injury history (I'm not concerned about preseason nicks), has consistently put up over 1200 yards and double-digit touchdowns as a starter, and has only been the primary ball carrier for three seasons in Houston. The way people talk about him, it's as if he surpassed 2,000 carries last year, not 1,000.

Count me in the group that would much rather have Foster in an offense that gets to the red zone often and force feeds him the ball down there than most other options. I understand the hype around Charles and Spiller, but I wouldn't draft them over Foster (especially not Charles who gets banged up easily and has never been a touchdown machine...his stock seems to solely be up because of a belief that Andy Reid means he will finally live up to his fantasy potential, which I am not banking my entire draft on personally.)
