I already posted this in other thread. Project 34 and Los Manos FTW. Best jerseys on internet. Gotta get somebody from Raps media to see these.

A ''little bit'' key word haha. Maybe they are, but the Raps ones are better IMO.

Jersey/Logo Attempts (Turbozone) - Updated

Post#126 » by Double Helix » Thu Aug 8, 2013 11:07 am

That problem with the Project 34 attempt is that their actual logo on the bottom right is an abomination. They turned the Raptor into a brontosaurus hand puppet with eye gunk. And they put that horrible logo on the shorts of that design, too.

No thanks. I don't mind aspects of the project 34 design but you couldn't pay me to wear their logo on a hat. Looks like something that should be on a children's lunch time snack.

I also think it benefits from having such a completed look due to the quality of the photoshop work. It's not a Photoshop competition. It's a design competition.

I've already raved about Los Manos Huskies rebrand attempt. If the team wanted a vintage Huskies look it would be hard to beat the clean, classiness and timelessness of Los Manos' design. As others have said before though, the logo is probably too close to the GOT wolf to work. It would have to be tweaked.

Love these jerseys above. Put TZ's logo at midcourt. But keep the jersey's simple and sharp like these above.

Great job TZ.

Congrats to TZ on the dailystar pub!

I've been swamped the last six weeks with work but I'm going to finish up my huskies and raptors re-branding and get it into RR for a public vote. The husky head logo has been completely changed and the script all cleaned up. I had intended to keep the rebranding thread running with updates but other design work just simply got in the way. I got such great feedback (both positive and negative) from a lot of posters here when I originally put them up and so I really need to get round to finalising them and cleaning them all up.

At least you'll know a vote for me is also a vote for the two game tickets to be put in a realgm raffle. :P

I'm a huge fan of TZ's work in general, but I have to be honest and say that the dual head thing is pretty weak in terms of pro-sports level design. The design would work really well on some apparel, though - like zip front hoodies, hats, and such - but not the actual game jerseys and/or main team logos.

The "Toronto Towers" concept was the most complete logo and theme - not sure if the person who submitted that is a poster on here?

Los Manos has fantastic presentation and execution, but the ideas themselves don't work IMO.

(I took graphic design in college and spent 10+ years in the sign and design business, for anyone questioning "what the hell does he know?")

Not to knock TZ whatsoever. Your work is amazing and im a huge fan. But we Gotta be honest.... Its not something I would ever buy.

If you can blend the Los Manos design with your creativity for the logo the Franchise would never be able to sell the jerseys fast enough.

I could definitely see the dual head concept be used on the warmup jackets, and those would sell better to the public than the dull ones they have now. They have to improve on the public's willingness to buy and wear the merchandise, which not only makes them more $ in sales but also provides them with free advertising every time it's worn. The brand has to grow, and not just to sponsors or media outlets.

I agree, however, I dont know the RAPTORS (i.e. Leiwenke) are thinking a full re-branding. I believe they are thinking, "tweaking". Huskies would be a total re-brand that would have to go through NBA head office.
The risk I see in changing to Huskies is that players from south of the border already associate Toronto/Canada as a cold city/country and prefer not to play here (however, they dont mind seem to mind, Detriot, Chicago, Portland etc. - who are just as cold) and the re-branding would only support this.

Leiwenke wants a "national" level appeal for the Raptors - like the Blue Jays have (in his opinion). The Huskies re-branding is probably something the rest of Canada can accept and relate too; the colours however (similar to Maple Leafs), they might not.

I'm not into rebranding into Huskies at all, but that design of yours is incredible. Classy and professional looking.

Any thoughts into doing a vintage Raptors design/rebrand, with purple and red? Something like my avatar, just simplified?

If Los Manos switches the Huskies jersey's colors from white and blue to black and red, changes the name to Raptors and submits his design to ''The Star'' i could see him winning it. :O

Agreed. If he changes it to Raptors in the hand-writing style, plus the colours to red/white (canada's national colours), with a third black jersey, and the logo, in the same style but a Raptor instead of a wolf/huskie, he would definitely win it in my opinion.

This is actually a great idea. But instead of black and red, how about purple and red (with some white)? Same font, just Raptors instead?

Los Manos, I'd love to see this and I think many would too! Your design is great.
