He looks to be is really good shape. Better than last year. Lighter. The hip tear doesn't appear to have had a lasting effect and he's got his spring back. In previous years when he has had offseason ailments he has been noticeably heavier coming into camp. Mabye fewer shots blocked under the rim this year?
What ever happened to Lee extending the range on his jumper? I recall reading one summer that he was working on developing a 3ball with something like 1000 jump shots a day. We could use him with that range now. With Bogut in the fold we need less smallball C from Lee and more and more of the agile/skilled PF look. Lee is probably better off the dribble than most others at the PF position and certainly better off the dribble than most defenders at the PF position are comfortable dealing with. If he could extend his jump shot range outside of 20 feet, that give him room to operate with his dribble and and more playmaking from the PF spot. Lighter probably means weaker and less effective in post D, but maybe improving his all around agility could result in better rotations. With Bogut and Oneal watching his back this year I'm less concerned about his D anyway. I just want him to keep that rock moving. Passing Lee >>>>>>> Buckets Lee and if he's getting touches with more open space and room to beat guys off the dribble, I think we will see a very unselfish player who will help make his teammates better like he did in the 1st half of last season.
Lee is sort of an enigma to everyone....He just doesn't look like a PF...cause he is light on his feet....quick as heck....Yet he's not a small dude either. Harrision Barnes, for example, dunks like a monster...Lee throws it down quickly...but is off the rim in a flash....which makes his dunks look like he's playing with a little toy basketball hoop or something!
Very cool to see him being athletic so soon.
Thinking about the Warriors in the playoffs last year without him.
Now imagine we are in the game against the Spurs and we have both Lee AND Iggy.... Different outcome maybe?
