I have no problem with what he did. However it is against the rules laid out. Unfortunate, because he really needs to improve his image after the things his dad did to cause issues. The fact that Shabazz doesn't exactly seem NBA ready doesn't help.

The thing about bringing a gal or two to his room may not seem like a big deal, but it's not so much the offense as the fact that these programs are, in part, an evaluation of maturity.

The CBA is a collection of rules, minor and major. Thos is one of the first time rookies are expected to follow a specific set of rules while participating in a program. The inablitity to do so is just a big old red flag that he either needs to get his act together or could be a problem as his career either progresses or fails to do so.

It's not like Shabazz doesn't have time to get his head on straight - he does and can - but it just looks bad given his previous stumble in draft status, followed up by a bad judgement call.

I know what Bazz did was minor, but I'm glad we passed up on him. I was so high on him a few months before the season ended. But those stories about his father and now this just shows me he could be another Beasley or Cousins. He could be a great talent (like those two can be) if he gets his head straight.

In the ESPN story it mentions Chalmers, Beasley, and Darrell Arthur as previous players that have done the same things. And none of those have quite lived up to their potential. Not good company...

The Milwaukee Bucks are in advanced discussions on a contract extension with forward Larry Sanders, according to sources close to the process.

Oct. 31 is the deadline for extensions for members of Sanders' 2010 draft class, but sources told ESPN.com this week that negotiations on a new deal for one of Milwaukee's new cornerstones have already reached the final stages.

In the wake of the recent departures of guards Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis, Sanders has emerged as Milwaukee's most recognizable player. He was a recent invitee to USA Basketball's minicamp in Las Vegas for the game's top 25-and-under players, only to be derailed halfway through by an ankle sprain.

Although contract figures were not immediately known, sources say Sanders is expected to receive an extension with an annual salary in excess of $10 million. He averaged 9.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in just 27.3 minutes per game last season.

Sanders wound up as the league's No. 2 shot-blocker and finished seventh in NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting. Yet he was snubbed by NBA coaches in voting for the All-Defensive first and second teams, just like Defensive Player of the Year winner Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 6-foot-11, 235-pounder ranks as one of the few holdovers in Milwaukee after an offseason of big changes. Guards O.J. Mayo and Gary Neal, forward Carlos Delfino, and center Zaza Pachulia were all signed by the Bucks last month -- along with the trade acquisition of guard Brandon Knight -- to replace the outgoing Jennings, Ellis, J.J. Redick and Mike Dunleavy.

When a deal for Sanders gets done, it'll be the second early extension of the summer for a 2010 draftee scored by a client of agent Dan Fegan, who last week completed a five-year, $80 million extension for Washington Wizards point guard John Wall. Sources say Fegan is also in active discussions with the Sacramento Kings toward an extension for big man DeMarcus Cousins.

Relevant to us because that's a big 2014 free agent target that would be off the market. Which begs the question, who exactly can we sign in 2014 that would be worth signing with the money we have?

Its been over a decade that we could be in a great position to get a superstar player like Durant since by then we might have pieces in place for him to start contending. Plus with Henny connection and Thunder not willing to pay for a championship contender. We could be a top 3 team destination when his contract is up 8-) .

Beno Udrih will sign a one-year deal with the New York Knicks, according to a source.

The contract will be worth the veteran's minimum.

The Knicks had made Udrih their top point-guard target to sign.

Udrih played for the Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks last season.

Udrih could be a really nice player for the Knicks. I like that signing.

I'd rather have Price over Udrih. He just doesn't seem like the kinda guy that would complain if he didn't get time.

Plus he wouldn't jack up 20 shots a game thinking he'd have to take over because we don't have anyone else to do it.

Good point. I reckon if the Magic become competitive, it would have been a different situation.

Price could potentially be a 4th string PG on our team.. I think with your 12th man (if he even dresses out) you want someone who provides leadership and a good unselfish attitude. IIRC Udrih is known for being selfish when it comes to minutes. I do agree that at this point in their careers Udrih > Price as a basketball player.

Preseason schedule is up now. The first game will be October 9th against New Orleans in Jacksonville. Then the first home preseason game is October 11th against Cleveland. The Magic will also play games against Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Detroit, and San Antonio. Looks like we'll see a lot of New Orleans over the first month, 2 preseason games against them and then one more time for the 3rd game of the season. Anyways, I'm glad to know when we will finally get some Magic basketball again.

Here's a link to the official article. http://www.nba.com/magic/news/orlando-magics-2013-preseason-schedule-released

We've gone over this. Just like DJ Augustin wasn't going to sign here for cheap (minutes), Udrih wasn't going to sign here for cheap. He obviously wants to be on a contender.
