fantasy football league

Post#1 » by Mamba Mentality » Fri Jul 19, 2013 7:49 pm

I'm trying to get an idea of how many of you would be interested in doing a fantasy football league this year. I could run it on either Yahoo, ESPN, or even NFL depending on what the general consensus is.

I've run a offline draft on a different site (which no longer exists) the last couple years with relatively good success, and considering that RealGM is probably 100 times the size of that site we have alot of potential. Basically how this would work is we would determine the draft order and then snake draft (A-B-B-A draft format). Every person would be given a 24 hour deadline to make their pick, and post their pick in a designated thread.

I won't get into the specifics of the league yet, but for the most part it will be standard scoring with standard positions (1QB-2RB-2/3 WR's-1TE-1K-1DEF-5-6BENCH). With that being said this is all up for discussion. I want to run a 12-14 team league, but I'm open to either raising or lowering that number by 2 teams depending on the interest or lack of interest.

Regular posters will obviously get higher consideration, but I encourage anyone who is interested to post in this thread.

I'd be interested if we could get a decent amount of people to join.

Your best bet is posting this over in the Gen NFL section. Few people will check here imo.

Aight I'll give that a shot as well. Hopefully we can fill up by sometime this week and start up by the end of next week at the latest.

You'd have big issues with the 24 hour thing....This draft could take you months

I wanted to make it around 8 hours initially, but different time zones makes that really tough. I'm open to suggestions though.

Personally I'd rather just have us all pick one time where we can all get on and knock it out at once. Taking 24 hours will really draw it out and won't make the draft process nearly as fun.

And FWIW, I vote we do ESPN.

(We're doing online rather than offline, right?)

Always tough to get 12 people online all at once. That's why I proposed the offline idea. But like I said, I'm open to making changes as long as we have a general consensus.

I wouldn't be oppposed to running a money league. Let's try and fill this thing up first lol. Not looking good thus far.
