I think most of it has to do with the fact that he tried to cover it up. In my heart of hearts, I will give Selig and the FO the benefit of the doubt in dealing with this as professionally as possible and not dwelling on the fact that A-Rod is more of a pariah than a martyr.

Yet, I truly believe he should have been banned for life if the cover-up thing is true. That is the most unacceptable, scummy thing to do, especially since he keeps preaching this bullsh*t about him wanting to continue being a role model for kids and younger guys in the game. That's the most awful thing about all of this.

Selig should have just dropped the hammer on him and let him appeal being banned. I'm not sure what the arbitration process would have been for that, but it would have probably resulted in less of a black eye for both parties.
