Lowry/Stuckey/Gay/Smith/Drummond would be a nice group.

Like these proposals the only thing I'd change is how about just..

To TOR: Gordon + DET 14' 1st + POR 14' 1st
To CHA: Gay + OKC 14' 2nd

I like getting MKG and he would be the odd man out with Rudy there but I like yours too

Yeah but I'd rather start Fields over MKG to help us tank and Fields would help us lose more games than MKG.

Just spitballing here, but what about something like this?

Toronto

In: Gordon, Schroeder, 2014 Atlanta 1st rounder (with at least lottery protection)
Out: Gay, Ross, Gray, 2016 NYK 1st, a second-rounder

Charlotte

In: Gay, Ross, 2016 NYK 1st rounder
Out: Gordon, MKG

Atlanta

In: MKG, Gray, second-rounder
Out: Schroeder, 2014 1st rounder

I usually don't do proposals, but I thought this one made some sense. If it doesn't, my apologies.

Bobcats fan here, we do not want Rudy Gay. We would not take him for straight expirings, definitely wouldn't add a pick, and absolutely would not trade MKG. The only way we take on Gay's albatross contract is with Jonas Valanciunas attached to him, and that obviously isn't happening. So stop the Gay to Charlotte trades.

 Are you gm of the Bobcats? Just because a fan doesn't like a trade doesn't mean the Bobcats Gm wouldn't do it.Especially with MJ in the front office anything can happen.

Nice, another added to the ignore list

**** brutal. Bull**** your FO wouldn't trade expirings for Gay, maybe YOU wouldnt but i hate when people talk on behalf of their front office and spew it as fact. There's no doubt in my mind that your GM and any actual NBA GM would trade expirings for him. Rudy himself is likely an expiring contract as I see him going the route of Iguodala.

Then it gets worse as you say we would need to add Val? Please just go back to your board. Might seem I'm being harsh on you but I'm just tired of the bull**** people like you spread on this board.

Take care, won't see your reply and I really don't care.

I think we have to add Val and an unprotected first round pick just to make it fair for the Bobcats....

After all, that's what everyone thought we had to do with Bargnani and, that's what we had to add to dump him to the Knicks.... whoops!

Well said! That poster is terrible on the trade board, pretending his word is the word of the Bobcats front office. I suggested Rudy would opt out and I got ridiculed on there. Pretends whatever he says his fact and downplays Rudy's value to a negative (called his contract a monstrosity).

Again, well said. I enjoyed that rebuttal!

I learned a long time ago to stop arguing with people on the trade board. That board thinks all Raptor players are overpaid, useless scrubs who have to have incentive attached to them in order to get anything in return. It's not worth your time, trust me.

I think there's also something to be said about being the initiator in trade proposals, and since we have such a large presence on these boards, we often are... People are much more likely to overvalue their assets when another person comes knocking.

Although, I do think the idea that Charlotte would trade MKG for Gay a little implausible, I like Gay to Charlotte. I think he'd help them make a legit playoff push, and that team could use some positive buzz before they become the Hornets next year (no pun intended).

I guess the biggest fear is that Gay won't opt out. I wish you had to declare these things before the season started.

Can we blame a Cats fan for not wanting Gay? Ya his post was warranted for a slap for it's ridiculousness. But if I was a Cats fan I would want a high pick in this draft. All the years of sucking only to fight for a playoff spot in one of the deepest drafts in memory. I wouldn't want Gay either.

That said, if a team wants Gay, they're gonna have to part with something of value.

I think this seems really fair for all teams. I think Atlanta would do it if they send their second rounder instead of their first rounder.

I like this trade proposal a lot, but I'd change it up a bit to this:

Toronto

In: Gordon, Schroeder
Out: Gay, Ross, Gray, 2016 NYK 1st, a second-rounder

Charlotte

In: Gay, Ross, 2016 NYK 1st rounder, ATL 2014 1st rounder, second rounder
Out: Gordon, MKG

Atlanta

In: MKG, Gray
Out: Schroeder, 2014 1st rounder

Atlanta's 1st would be top-5 protected. They're getting a lot of value with a second overall pick in MKG coming back so they need to give (even if Schroeder looks to be a legit prospect)

Charlotte is giving up a lot, but they get a 2014 pick, a future 1st and a top-tier wing to pair with Jefferson. I think they might not do this trade because MKG is valuable to them, but it's an option.

Toronto doesn't need the future 1st. They do this trade for Schroeder and go in tank mode.

Great trade idea though.
