Re: Hypothetical situation in the 2014 draft
I am probably only one on here who wouldn`t. The reason is plain and simple - it would be f... awesome watching Wiggins, Goodwin, Bledsoe, Len, Morris bros... growing together as a team. That would probably be the most athletic team in the whole NBA which would overrun other teams on a nightly basis. I can see one hell of a fun ride with those kids developing.

Yes. You're right on that one about being the only one here mate.
Wouldnt watching Durant, Goodwin, Len and Bledsoe be even more fun? I mean, it's Kevin freakin' Durant! The second best player in the world!
Kevin.
Durant.

Re: Hypothetical situation in the 2014 draft
10 million times yes.
Kevin Durant will be 25 this September, and he's the 2nd best player in the league. He's one of the best scorers in NBA history. It's incredible how good this guy is. He could very well be the best player in the entire league when he's 28 and LeBron is 33.
Wiggins projects to be very good, but the key word is "projects".
In this hypothetical scenario where KD somehow thinks the Suns are more attractive than the Thunder, you trade that #1 pick for Durant all day, every day.

I'm with Ryu... not that that means anything. Wiggins could be special (side note, can we start calling him Ender Wiggins? That's close enough to the book right? And it could be one of the coolest nicknames in the league if he pans out). Quite frankly he's more than capable of becoming better than Durant according to the hype. Was one of the top offensive AND defensive players in the country last year, and on top of that has some of the quickest spin moves and eurosteps that I've ever seen (go look at his "official" mixtape, that move at 0:52 is crazy fast). Oh and he's younger and not making ~$19 million/year.
Maybe I just like the allure of "what if?" Oh well.

This is like asking if you would trade a lotto ticket for 300 million dollars.

Re: Hypothetical situation in the 2014 draft
Let me throw you an equally unrealistic one while we're at it.
Say something happens in Miami and the big three decide to explore their options. We land Wiggins in the draft. Lebron is interested in playing with Bledsoe and Goodwin.
Do you deal Wiggins, Dragic and Gortat (s&t) for LeBron (s&t)? Salaries match at around $20m.
Miami:
Dragic
Wade
Wiggins
Bosh
Gortat
Phoenix:
Bledsoe
Goodwin
James
Markieff/ Frye/FA
Len

No, because we'd have the money to sign him outright. And if (the big IF) LeBron would be interested in being here in that scenario, I suspect Wiggins would be the guy peaking his interest, not Goodwin.

You're not winning a championship with James + scrubs.
I'd rather have Wiggins.

If you're not winning a championship with "LeBron+scrubs", how are you winning with Wiggins and his less than inspiring cast?

Well, you're not at first. but you get a young star on a rookie contract and cap space.

Re: Hypothetical situation in the 2014 draft
James will not want to be on the Suns if Suns have to decimate their talent to get James.
And Suns CAN sign him out right.
Trading for James is almost not an option FOR any team... Because it will deprive the team and James is not playing for a talentless team in his 30s.
C: Len
F: James
F: Wiggins
G: Goodwin
G: Bledsoe
That's 5 seconds and less.... Literally dunks galore and full court transition most plays.

This is entirely possible if Goodwin and Len pan out. If they don't it doesn't matter how close of friends LeBron is with Bledsoe, he won't come here. Also we need to have more than just those 5 players, and I don't think any players from our current bench would be a good enough bench to turn us into a championship caliber team. Unless that starting 5 plays 35 of the 48 minutes a night.

Dragic, Morris bros, FA shooters on the bench.

Re: Hypothetical situation in the 2014 draft
If Wiggins (SF) is pencilled in as #1, but picks #2-4 are all highly touted, all-star calibre PFs, then perhaps any of those picks would complement a Bledsoe/Goodwin/James/Len lineup. Meaning that any top 5 pick might be handy - we might not need to wish exclusively for #1 (although it would be a nice change)...
