Wild pitch and Paul Janish. Crummy way to end the streak.

You can't really blame Janish for us not being able to buy a hit

Yeah, but I wish the league-leader was batting there instead of a guy who hasn't gotten a hit in almost a year. It was more disappointment in Johnson getting tossed. But the streak had to end eventually.

Mo just blew his third straight save.

I'm not sure what to believe in anymore.

And then Brett Gardner hits a walk off homer in the bottom of the 9th.

Wouldn't it be something if the Royals and Pirates both made the playoffs this season?

Here's your Kershaw rant that I didn't feel was necessary earlier.

8 IP
2 R
1 ER
3 H
2 BB
8 Ks

lowering his 1.91 ERA to a 1.88

I'm tired of being nice about it. I'm tired of acting like he's in the company with a very short list of players and I'll just take him because he's on my team and I'm biased.

the guy is the best pitcher in baseball. Verlander, Felix, SS, Harvey...kneel.

Kershaw is definitely back in the driver's seat, but Harvey is still riding shotgun.

As for the "Best Pitcher in Baseball" talk, I honestly don't know who I'd say it is, but if I were starting a franchise today, I'd have a hard time deciding between Kershaw and Felix.

I'd also like to know who was the last pitcher to post five consecutive sub-3.00 ERA seasons. Kershaw is obviously on pace to do that. I would imagine Pedro was the last to do it.

I did look up who was the last to go sub-2.00 for a season and it was Roger Clemens in 2005, but for Quake's sake, the last clean guy to do it was Pedro in his legendary 2000 run when he went 1.74.

One more thing, supposedly someone threw a banana at Adam Jones towards the end of the Os/Giants game yesterday.

Apparently fans are now resorting to being incredible douchebags like Italian soccer fans.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night but I heard about that. It's pretty **** up and insensitive. Crazy how one isolated incident as this one can put a whole fanbase in a bad light. Media is eating this up right now.

Stras with his first ever complete game, and a shutout on top. Good sweep over the Phillies, but at this point it may be too little too late. We're just too far behind the Reds for the 2nd Wild Card and there is no chance we catch the Braves at this point.

Yea. Reminds me of Brian Stow.

Brb 2 idiots represent the Dodger fan base.

I'm sure that as a fan u want the same courtesy from the public opinion that I wanted back then....the same courtesy no Giant fan ever gave me.

Sucks doesn't it.
Great ball park. Great fans.

Yu Darvish is just blazing through the Astros right now. He's perfect through five on 71 pitches and has 10 Ks.

Apparently people thought this was a strike, and effectively ended Yu's perfecto bid...

Either I'm losing it, or I'm not a Rangers fan, because I thought that was a pretty clear ball.

Kershaw is definitely the leader, but he's not that far ahead. It could easily flip over the next couple of weeks.

1.88 era / .184 baa / 0.87 whip / 174 so / 182.1 ip
2.09 era / .190 baa / 0.86 whip / 178 so / 159.2 ip

That's a strike, close because it's at the bottom of the zone but a strike. Pierzynski just did a really **** job catching and framing it.

I don't see how that's a strike. It's shin level.

As for Harvey being a close second to Kershaw, it's basically what High 5 already said. They're not that far apart in any category besides IPs, and that's because the Mets are handling Harvey with kid gloves. But, with nearly 30 less IP, Harvey has more Ks.

One or two more great outings from Harvey and a poor outing from Kershaw (relative to what he's used to doing) could easily make Harvey the more attractive vote, even if the Dodgers win the West.

meh...I used to get geeked over Ks in 2011 when Kershaw led the league with them.
then I saw Timmy was still getting a lot of Ks while completely sucking. Not as big of a deal to me anymore.

ERA?
1.88 vs. 2.09
2 teams that are meh on defense.
2 pitcher's parks.
