I don't get this piece at all. Allen says, in essence, that if Otto can be as good as George and/or Leonard, why then he can be as good as George and/or Leonard. Which tells me... what?
The first question would be why anyone should think Porter is a similar player either to Leonard or to George. What he did in college looks very different from Leonard -- who was a big-time rebounder but not much of a 3-point shooter. What he does as a pro ("what" -- not how well) is oddly different from what he did in college. No way to project a comparison to Otto, who was just about as good a college player but did it in an altogether different way.
George wasn't as good in college as Porter. But he was more of a 3-point shooter -- took about twice as many per 40 minutes.
So... how do we use either of them "as a blueprint" for Otto Porter?
