Chris Haynes: At 38, Mavs free agent point guard Mike James says he's not retiring. Dead set on playing his 12th NBA season.

I'm so thankful to have Calderon, Ellis, Harris, Mekel, Larkin, Ellington.
Just the idea of having Mike James again as starting point guard makes me sick to my stomach.

Imagine how terrified Mark Cuban was of Mike James.

He was like "I better sign 20 point guards just to be sure I don't need Mike James again!"

But to be honest... Mike James, at his age, dropped into the middle of the season in this team... I don't know, I felt he did an OK job actually. It's not like he called himself LeBron James or anything and we should've expected 20-20-20 stat lines from him.

Yeah, initially I disliked Mike James because he came in gunning and shooting, like, 25% from the field but he really did improve as the season went on.

In fact, I think he made one game winning shot last season.

Tell me Mark Cuban doesn't look like King Joffrey from Game of Thrones older:

Dwain Price ‏@DwainPrice 6h
Poor Rodrigue Beaubois. According to the Miami Herald, the #Heat wanted to bring him into their camp, but Beaubois has a wrist injury.

So Matrix is looking to retire at the end of the season and VC wants a couple of years more. I'd miss Matrix. It's amazing that he can still run like a deer at this point of his career. I wonder if Mark Cuban would retire his jersey, or instead, let Pheonix do it.

A discussion that players often have when entering their 15TH season!!

Not surprised. I have heard many say that they come into camp in their best shape, and left in their worst shape. I think it was Daryl Johnston, but same premise. Practicing more, lifting more, doing drills, working hardest, etc.

You're always going to be in your top shape at the start of day 1 of training camp. From there on, it's a downwards road. Too much volume and not enough recovery, you can only hope to maintain your strength and athleticism during the season.

OJ Mayo sucks in his debut. We should have drafted Giannis Antetokounmpo. Sigh...

Bill Simmons thinks we're the 14th best team in the NBA. He's pretty high on Dirk this year.
I think Jalen is pretty unconvinced by the Mavs.
