Don't we still have Aaron Gray playing backup minutes? How about Amir? I'd like to see more of Acy this season, so he'll get minutes at the 4. Same with Hansbrough. I think our big rotation is decent. Admundson is not a bad idea, only for the min. obviously.

I think he's a better backup 5 than Gray. He's a veteran (of sorts). It's almost more interesting if Masai isn't interested but not quite as it only makes sense to retain some kind of distance from the lux tax, to start the season at least, so you can take on more salary in trade, if need be, mid-way through the season.

There will be big bodies to sign out of the d-league if the injury bug comes a-buzzin'.

Since when is Amundson a C? He's the same size as Amir and TH and yet people seem to refuse the notion that they'll be the ones playing back up to Jonas as much as Gray will..

I think spencer hawes should be a trade target for us, with Philly obviously tanking

Hawes is a great all around player ... Shoots well, great passer, decent rebounder, shot blocker.... Steps in as third big behind two foul prone posts and huge improvement over Gray, hansborough and Acy

Something like Gray + Acy + rights to kleiza .... Maybe a second end pick or two
All contracts are 1 year + helps Philly tank they pick up a project prospect in Acy then pick(s)

What about trading Ross for Tyler Zeller.

Cavs could use another wing prospect, while they have too many bigs prospects. We get our back-up C who's young enough to possibly grow into being an elite 3rd big. It works in the trade checker.

This summer I've become a fan of both Zeller brothers. I think their talent is closer to the Gasol brothers than most people give them credit for. If they were European, people would probably come around to their potential, but since they're white Americans, they get knocked a bit more.

Tyler looked very good in the Team USA scrimmage and like his brother, will be a starting center within a few years.

I said elite 3rd big because we couldn't start him with Jonas even once Tyler is developed. So he'd be a bench big for us until a quality trade offer presented itself.

Monroe & JV aren't really an ideal fit. Monroe would just take away touches from JV.

I don't think you're giving enough credit to the Gasol brothers

Not the "ideal fit," but they are a good fit. Monroe is a really good passer and he can hit mid range jumpers, that's why they'd work well together. It would be a good compliment, and having two near-seven footers out there together would be tough to guard for other teams. You surround those 2 with great shooters, and a PG that works great in the pick and roll/getting into the paint/hitting spot up 3s, and it could be a great looking team.

No way Detroit does that deal though. Why would they?

Yea I agree... I think the only possible scenario we could see with Detroit is Gay/Amir for Monroe/Charlie/Stuckey... ONLY if the Pistons start off terribly and Josh Smith is much better suited at PF. Detroit's not going to want to pay Monroe big money next season if he, Smith, and Drummond don't work too well together on the court - there's no point on investing that much money on something that doesn't work well.

Again, it'll only be considered if they start off terribly. 20 games into the season should tell a lot... it'll give Masai time to evaluate this team properly as well. If we show that we have a lot of promise with this core, I doubt Masai will want to break it all up. Time will tell what we/other teams want to do in terms of direction in the future... I give it until the end of December/January.

P.S. I'm happy you dont put "- Ice" at the end of every post anymore. Classy.

^Great post, I agree with most of it.

How's Monroe's defense though? That's the one thing I'm not sure about him. The rest of his game, especially his passing, is great. And him and Jonas can grow together as a solid team.

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….
