What should give us pause is that Pek got paid with the TWolves bidding against themselves. There was no NBA team with the cap space to bid against the Twolves. When Monroe is a FA the Wizards, Lakers ect will have the space to pursue him.

Good post. I honestly think we should offer him 4yrs/55.2mil and see what happens, if he declines the deal we all should be prepared to match a max deal(Assuming Monroe improves his game). Another option would be to sign-and-trade Monroe for Cousins. Cousins attitude might be his down fall which would allow us to sign him to a less than a max deal compared to Monroe who's been a good citizen.

we can match any offer, I figure we should wait and let the market determine his value. there really isn't any reason to rush, other than maybe feelings.
