Injury report: Packers — WR Randall Cobb (biceps), WR Charles Johnson (knee), CB Tramon Williams (knee), OT Bryan Bulaga (knee), TE Andrew Quarless (thigh), WR Jordy Nelson (knee), DE Datone Jones (ankle) and RB DuJuan Harris (non-injury) aren't expected to play. TE Ryan Taylor (knee), RB Eddie Lacy (hamstring) and C Evan Dietrich-Smith (toe) are game-time decisions. S Sean Richardson (neck), CB Casey Hayward (hamstring), OL JC Tretter (ankle), OT Derek Sherrod (leg) and DE Jerel Worthy (knee) are on the PUP list. Rams — DE Eugene Sims (personal), S Matt Giordano (calf), RB Zac Stacy (soreness), LB Jabara Williams (hamstring), DE/LB Sammy Brown (calf), OL Sean Hooey (ankle), RT Rodger Saffold (shoulder), TE Lance Kendricks (knee) and DT Jermelle Cudjo (foot) are either out or questionable.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH

STAND-UP GUY: This will be a good opportunity for defensive coordinator Dom Capers to see what he has with Mike Neal playing a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive line position. Neal worked a lot this week on rushing from a stand-up position and should get a decent amount of reps in the nickel and dime defenses pressuring from outside.

REDEMPTION SONG: Who are some players who need bounce-back games? How about backup quarterback Graham Harrell, cornerback Davon House, wide receiver Jeremy Ross, right tackle Marshall Newhouse, tight end D.J. Williams and linebacker Dezman Moses? They are among a group of players who need to make amends for a poor preseason start or just pick up the pace.

CENTERPIECE: If Dietrich-Smith can't play, Greg Van Roten will get the call at center. His play has picked up, but he still has some work to do in making line calls. Last week, he made a couple of brilliant calls to pick up blitzes and a couple that made very little sense. He is the team's best hope for a backup center right now.

MANY HAPPY RETURNS: Someone needs to make a run at the return job. With Cobb out, Ross will get first crack, but he needs to flash more on both punts and kickoffs. Rookie Johnathan Franklin will continue to get reps, as will Loyce Means, Omarius Hines and Justin Wilson.

JUST LIKE OLD TIMES: It should be interesting to see defensive tackles Ryan Pickett and B.J. Raji go up against their former teammate and current Rams center Scott Wells. Those three waged many good battles in previous training camps and this should be a good test to see how well both defenders are functioning in the run game. The No. 1 run defense was very good against Arizona last week.

22 days until the first game. Injuries are starting to worry me. Cobbs is one many aren't talking about but there have been rumblings it's worse than reported.

Yeah it sounds as if Cobb's will linger into the season. He'll likely play game 1 but won't be 100%

Bakhtiari and Barclay/Newhouse vs. Long and Quinn is going to be a sign of things to come. If our guys can hold up, we'll be in business. If not, I feel bad for Rodgers this season.

I'm also getting sick of our injury report being twice as long as our opponents.

It will also show if we can get some push in the run game. Even with Lacy and EDS banged up, this will probably be the healthiest we'll see our running game be all year. It's gonna be a test because the Rams front 6 is very solid.
