I just want to know if there will be anything formal handed down to the Hansen group? A potential owner trying to block another owner from getting a stadium is a reason to be kicked out the players club.
I want to know too. What owner would allow a guy in their club who has shown that he isn't above sabotaging potential colleagues? He hurt one franchise, so now there's nothing to suggest that he won't do it to others and damages the entire league. Having money is important in the NBA, but you also have to show that you play nice with others. Hansen has repeatedly failed at the latter. It’s one thing to be a ruthless businessman against competing companies, but you’re not necessarily competing against the other owners in a sports league. The success of one franchise depends on the health of the entire league, and that logic is why we won. Hansen and Seattle have shown that they’re only out for themselves. Vivek and us in Sacramento are out for ourselves and the league as a whole. We’re partners with the NBA.
Also it's a real shame for the fans in Seattle. As far as I can tell, he's been really the only guy who has done anything to bring back the Sonics since they left in 2008. Seattle has a lot of rich guys, but it looks like most couldn't give a crap, and Ballmer just seems like the dude with the checkbook, but hasn't really been involved beyond that. I have a feeling that if Hansen is out of picture (and he deserves to be), so will any effort to bring the Sonics back. Oh well.
