What? Kobe's health been amazing, few nicks here and there. The Achilles was truly his first real injury. The knees was up and down but for the most part he faced a little better luck on that knee department compared to other super athletic guards. Of course alot of is due to his work ethic.
huh? he's had a shoulder problem, dislolcated fingers, fractured fingers, torn ligament in his wrist, knuckle tendinitis, played on one leg in the threepeat attempt. just cause he plays doesnt mean he was anything close to healthy
Shoulde problem? Everyone has em, messed up fingers? I'm sure most guys at Kobe level of competivness will be fine playing through them, one leg? No he was not on one leg, he had meniscus issues which he fixed with the procedure but by no means was he on one leg especially in 08 or 09. Stops exaggerating his injuries, he's a warrior yes, but it's not like he's tmac who routinely needs stretchers, tj ford who gets stingers if you look at him, hell I'd argue wade knees have been arguably worse than Kobe's. on the health department he's been pretty lucky, besides a few Knicks here and there.

excerpt from Phil Jackson's recent book.
In the book "The Jordan Rules" they mention that Michael Jordan at times wanted to dunk the missed free throw which meant BJ Armstrong had to cover for Jordan which isn't easy to do.
Armstrong had to go way back to cover for MJ, then Phil shouted what the hell he was doing and he had to get back up court.
So Michael gambled on defense as well.

Kobe played that season on one leg. Phil kept him out of practice the entire year. It was painful to watch.

So one player averages 1.30 points per shot whereas the other averages 1.31 points per shot in their careers. If both players took one hundred shots, the more efficient player would have scored 1 more total point than the inferior one. Goodness me, give me Jordan any day.

And this is why I will miss Kobe when he's done.
He's not Mike but he filled my void somewhat after Mike departed.

The gap in the playoffs widens a bit, unless we're ignoring that part.
In the playoffs, Kobe has taken 2 more shots than Jordan, but Jordan has nearly 350 more points.
You wanna cut out Kobe's first 4 playoff runs & only include '01 (when his production began to match his hype) until now, Jordan still has a similar advantage in points per shot and total FGA vs. total points.

Kobe is a derivative of late 90's MJ. He never played like peak Jordan, not even in 2006.

This should be in green. Kobe's post game was not close to Jordan's.

Wasn't Kobe the best post player in the league according to synergy? Kobe's post game is legit. He just doesn't use it as often as Jordan.

Yeah I disagree about Kobe being a better post player. Jordan was stronger and had amazing footwork and instincts. He also always knew where the double team was coming from and knew when to pass.

You use point per shots?

You use point per shots?![]()
There's something called TS% (56.9% vs 55.5%), and the only reason it was as close as it was because of Jordan's junk years in a Wizards' uniform.
Let's just throw out everyone's junk years while we're at it.
Jordan with his, "I quit... no I don't... yes I do... no I don't..." charade. Everyone always says Jordan has great mental strength. The way I see it: indecision is a sign of mental weakness. Try explaining to your job interviewer why you quit your previous job only to come back to it again... and again.
