He should really not be make any more excuses that could end up making him look like more of a asshat if they turn out to be lies.

At this point it really doesn't matter what he says and it really doesn't matter who believes what. I don't think he'll be traded, he has a very team friendly contract the next two years (10, 12) before it goes up to $19 in 2016
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's only team friendly if you believe he will be able to produce at a respectable level while not on PEDs. There's now valid reason to question this based on the latest rumors of his PED use dating back to college.
I still believe wholeheartedly that he won't be traded. But it's because no GM in their right mind would want this guy on their ballclub if they weren't forced to. The negatives (bad pub for the organization, media fiasco in the locker room, impact on team dynamics) greatly outweigh the positives.
For those of you now endorsing PED legalization, if this happens you would essentially be making it a requirement in order to play in the Majors.
There are enough people who would be willing enhance their performance by artificial means despite the health concerns later in life to effectively squeeze out the uber-talented people who don't want to sacrifice their health or integrity by juicing. The financial incentive is just too great.
But those same people juicing could then turn around and sue the MLB later in life when the glory of playing in the big leagues is long gone and all they are left with is the medical detriment of their previous choices.
There's no way the MLB is going to risk that. And they shouldn't.
It's really easy to rationalize PED use now that one of your beloved players has been found guilty of doing the stuff. Or blame the PED doctors or the league, etc. Take the higher road.

This will all be forgotten by June of next season if he's performing.

Re: Braun to admit to PED use on 8/19
For most of this recent hoopla I've been middle of the road, I don't think he's scum because most other players would do almost exactly what he did and a ton of good players are "lying" every day by not admitting they are on it right now.
That said, I'm not going to believe him when he tells us he did it for a month to recover. Nor do I care that much at this point. I just hope one day Poo Holes' day comes, but I think he may escape it all. By the way, he's being a jackass to the accusers, too, because currently it's the nearly no-harm way to go unless they go the extra mile and catch you like Braun.

More Braun fun at the top of MJS right now.....additional details on his campaign to claim Dino had a motive to spike his test sample.
I don't think he finishes his career in a Brewer uniform. Too many people in this State that like the hometown values stuff. He's got to get back to all star form right away to make them forget his antics.

Re: Braun to admit to PED use on 8/19
So not about Braun but just a statement about how **** stupid players and ESPN personalities are.
They're all bitching about how A-Rod can play while appealing his suspension. They all apparently forget that none of this information is supposed to be public. So let's just have it their way one time. Let's say a player didn't do anything but tested positive for something but since players don't want players who test positive to play during appeal they basically sit out even though everyone saw him play last night and he was fine. Now that player's name is going to get dragged through the mud even though he didn't do anything.
**** idiots.

The absurd allegations about Laurenzi, coupled with the allegations that he was using at Miami, just gives me more and more reasons to loathe that piece of ****.

I think it is safe to say that Braun will not be speaking anytime soon in light of this crap he was trying to spread.
Just when I felt like I was turning a corner with this thing...nothing turns my stomach more then when people play the hate/discrimination card unfairly.
The cover up is always WAY far worse than the crime and Braun really dug himself an incredible hole.

Re: Braun to admit to PED use on 8/19
Twirly, you've lost the whole "believe everything Braun's camp says" bit and now you're going into other avenues.
1. A-Rod's a jackass regardless.
2. A-Rod has half a billion dollars. He can take the strain of this.
3. It's a game. I'm all for re-investigating which drugs we allow. However, in a game, rules need to be defined.
4. Anyone that idolizes these players as human beings for the most part has already lost. For the kids that may, I don't know if I want them dabbling in PEDs. I know a ton of guys that juiced up for HS football or small D-3 football. Are most of the negative effects of the drugs overblown? Maybe. But it's a drug they're taking for low-level athletics. It's really dumb.
About the only place I agree is that A-Rod should not be made a villain mostly because so many other guys are on this stuff. A-Rod is not the only jackass and we continue to believe that only the ones that are caught are.
Also, yeah. Due process. However, we've seen it with terrorism. People are willing to give up constitutional rights in the light of trying to avoid the new buzz fear.
However, given the punishment of these things, if we still want them to be illegal, these guys are getting a slap on the wrist. A-Rod has 500 million effing dollars (at least). There's actually a good chance he wiggles out of this thing again. I'm fairly positive Poo Holes was on roids with St. Louis. Both times he's been accused? He did a Braun-esque thing and threw the guy under the bus. Now, innocent until proven guilty so maybe I'm very wrong and he was just doing what he should. But ALL of these guys vehemently deny this stuff because until they literally investigate mailing records or Facebook messages, not only do these guys get almost zero punishment for what we've defined as cheating (50 games and keep the majority of their current/next contract), but they rarely ever even get caught.
So I'm alright with Dempster throwing the ball at him. Would I have cheered it? No. I don't care that much to put A-Rod down. But I'm not defending any of these guys. Every single one of them lies because there is no reason not to.

Re: Braun to admit to PED use on 8/19
Funny to think, had Braun lost his appeal and been suspended he would have come out of it looking much better. Yes he still would have done all the lying and the (likely) slandering, but I believe that it would have blown over faster. I think what makes this a bigger deal is the fact that its been going on for the last year and a half before an ending was finally reached.
Also as far as ARod goes, what makes him such a scumbag in this whole thing is the prior PED use, then joining that Hooten Foundation and getting busted again. (Well aside from the reported throwing everyone under the bus, trying to pay people off and all of that, because thats all technically rumors, while the foundation part is fact)

Re: Braun to admit to PED use on 8/19
I think that cheering throwing a baseball at someone is despicable. I am not a baseball fan, and I think that Braun and A-Rod are both scumbags, but cheering for injuring someone is garbage. You can't have it both ways. You can't call these guys scumbags and also be a huge fan of throwing baseballs at them. Take the high road every time or don't take it at all.

Yeah, I'm not saying I'm cheering at a baseball being thrown at them but let's think about it in actual business.
"Son, there's that VP of sales guy from Apple. He broke several international trade laws to dominate the 2013 sales year and he put a small division of Samsung out of business. He's worth 2 billion dollars but was fined 15K for his actions so he's just going to keep doing it."
I'd take the high road but I'd have a hard time being mad if some guy came to his front door, told him he was throwing an object in his general direction, and then threw it right at him giving him an opportunity to dodge it.

Is the object a baseball being thrown at 90 miles per hour?
