After a few seasons with the Clippers, he'd just walk to the Lakers.

More like Elgin Baylor would've traded him for George Lynch on draft night.

maybe no 3 peat.

but Jerry West would have given Shaq some tools to get one or two with.
let's not fool ourselves here.

This is basically Kobe bashing on the Clippers in a viperous, malicious mood. He knows the Clippers won their first ever Pacific Division by sweeping the Lakers in the regular season, and wants nothing more than bittersweet revenge against the team who passed up on him for Lorenzen Wright (R.I.P.). But that was a long time ago when Donald Sterling was still helping Dr. Jerry Buss.

Times have changed. Clips drafted for Blake Griffin, stole Chris Paul from a vetoed Laker trade, and traded for coach Doc Rivers. The loss of Sterling's three closest influences (Al Davis, his son Scott, and Dr. Buss) have inspired him to win now before his time comes.

Clippers didn't steal CP3 from the Lakers. It's not like the league handed him to us.

This would have been pretty cool, then again, would Sterling have changed earlier and done what was needed to maintain him?

they didn't deserve that "3 peat" anyway

I will never get over Portland choking away game 7 and as has been stated many times before, game 6 of the WCF in 2002 was a travesty. Really should have been only one championship for the Shaq-Kobe Lakers

You can't fault the Lakers for Portland's choking ways. The 2002 title is tainted, though. Kobe-Shaq era should've been a repeat at best.

The Lakers would not have signed Shaq with today's free agency system. Or a least without giving up someone. Shaq was straight up an unrestricted free agent coming ou of his rookie contract and the Magic got nothing.
