Ross has the potential to be a ~17 ppg player with lock-down defense. Wow!

This. It's amazing how many people on here just **** on Ross while giving him no support to improve.

Nobody is saying he's an all star, but I don't see why he can't become a 16-17/5/3 type in his prime under the right circumstances. He still has the potential to be a lockdown defender with a little more discipline.

The reason people say he can't is because no one ever has. Guys who put up rookie seasons similar to Ross don't turn into 17/5/3 guys. They turn into Shandon Anderson, Brandon Rush or Joey Graham. Look how similar Joey's rookie season is to Ross's.

He just might. Who knows. The point is, you can't judge him solely off of his rookie season, and make a determination as to what kind of player he will be. Too small of a sample size.

Too small of a sample size? The average career length is 6 years for an NBA player.. If they don't prove them self within the first 2 they usually leave the league.. especially wings, who are a dime a dozen.

Ross is the type of player who would be great in NBA 2K, because you get to think for him.

Only thing making me less excited about next season is this clown who should have been let go the second Ujiri was hired. Ross has potential but Casey's only buttering him up because he was part of the process when drafting him. I see Ross as a solid bench player that's athletic and can stretch the floor with his 3 but nothing more than that. As long as DeRozan is here, I don't see there being a chance for him.

None of you guys know what goes on in practice or his work ethic or what type of shape he is in this year. It's just automatically assumed that Casey is "stupid" because Ross had a rough year.

I hope this kid proves most of the posters wrong on here because he has some really good tools, but Realgm is where people come to hate and sh*t on guys, even rookies which is ridiculous.

I agree with your first statement, that this is a ridiculous reason to hate on Casey. Those that hate Casey would have criticized this comment or the exact oppositie comment because they've decided that everything he says it automatically wrong.

That said, there's zero chance (and I truly mean zero) that this statement 'could be completely true'. Sorry.

Casey makes me think of this card given to NY Jets players to help them answer questions.

Casey somehow heard that any player he's asked about must have the greatest upside or be the best at something in the NBA.

Think about it this way, you want the team to tank, and what better way to tank than having an incompetent coach leading the way.

But we aren't tanking. This team is an 8th seed but casey will turn it into a 10th seed. Both situations are horrible.

Didn't that C just get traded to the Knicks?

This team is not an 8th seed, believe me, talent wise it doesn't match the 8th seed contenders (cavs/wiz/hawks), and with his coaching abilities, the team will underperform as usual.

Okay, so should we give him another year or two, right? Why is that so hard?

I'm not giving up on the kid yet considering he's played less meaningful minutes in games than I've spent taking dumps during those very same games.

What I'm getting at is I like to eat Mexican food during Raptors games and he barely gets enough time to evaluate his long term potential.

Mr.Raptorsingh is suggesting you at least give Ross until the end of his rookie contract, and you're equating that to Bargnani?
