fantasy football league

Post#1 » by Mamba Mentality » Thu Aug 8, 2013 7:06 pm

Originally posted this in the fantasy football section but I'm not so sure many people viewed it.

I'm trying to get an idea of how many of you would be interested in doing a fantasy football league this year. I could run it on either Yahoo, ESPN, or even NFL depending on what the general consensus is.

I've run a offline draft on a different site (which no longer exists) the last couple years with relatively good success, and considering that RealGM is probably 100 times the size of that site we have alot of potential. Basically how this would work is we would determine the draft order and then snake draft (A-B-B-A draft format). Every person would be given a 24 hour deadline to make their pick, and post their pick in a designated thread.

I won't get into the specifics of the league yet, but for the most part it will be standard scoring with standard positions (1QB-2RB-2/3 WR's-1TE-1K-1DEF-5-6BENCH). With that being said this is all up for discussion. I want to run a 12-14 team league, but I'm open to either raising or lowering that number by 2 teams depending on the interest or lack of interest.

Regular posters will obviously get higher consideration, but I encourage anyone who is interested to post in this thread.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm definitely willing to play.

Again, I like ESPN the most but majority rules I guess.

But if 14-16 seems like a lot to me. I'd prefer somewhere around 10, but maybe that's just me.

I'd be glad to do join. I've previously used Yahoo, but I'd be glad to try something else. I agree that the A-B-B-A is smart.

I assume if we can't find any more players this idea is dead?

Pretty much. I was under the impression that this league was going to fill up real quick, but definitely not the case.
