Tread lightly...
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

It's called pulling an all nighter. Something you probably did like 50 years ago when you were in college.
Scratch that weren't you a liberal arts major Kilroy

I was a Biology Major up until senior year... I probably coasted through the class you stayed up all night for...

I'm prety sure when you go home you're happy that you have contributed to medical research. Would rather do what you do than Stephanos job.
Pretty **** up that some scientist get paid **** compared to other less important jobs.

I'd happily switch to be a financial analyst and drive the economy into further ruin while doubling my wages. I can essentially do the job I do over a week over 2 days if I wanted to, I kind of miss the thrill and high paced work.

I'm only 3-4 weeks in, but I'm yet to run out of stuff to do. Essentially different testing/experiments/planning every day of the week (sometimes if I hit road blocks I have to finish the next day). Sure there are some boring parts because you can't avoid drawing fluids or collecting data at time points in science, but it's fun. I enjoy the more "do only what you have to" side of industry and also the area where in addition to the typical cellular/assay side of science I do more with my hands/some borderline mechanical engineering which is fun.
Of course I essentially plan what I do, but there's no real end in sight which is pretty awesome.
I wouldn't pass up my job now because I would like to collect stock options and make bank some day before moving into the business side of engineering. Probably after an MBA where I could hopefully make bank.
