That's precisely what I was thinking. It would be manna from heaven for assembling the 2014 roster if he turned out to be a poor man's Aaron Hill – for half a million dollars. But his MiLB record just doesn't suggest anything extraordinary. He was MVP at NH last year, but after a solid start in BUF he hit .218 in July and August. Right now I'd bet on adrenalin and the lack of a good book on him for opposing pitchers, but it would be nice to be wrong. Even .240 and really solid D would be a big improvement.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Come on man this was easy. Should be "Can Goins keep it going?"

It's kind of been taken for granted (and also kind of been ignored because of all of the **** that has gone on), but Encarnacion has proven himself as one of the game's elite hitters this season. That wasn't a sure thing at all heading into it.

I like the two run strike out. Should make it a regular part of the Jays offence.

I think the thing that is so noticable (since we're not used to it from 2B maybe) is that he can make routine plays look routine.

His efficiency might be playable if they started him against RHP, although his splits aren't extreme outside of 2013 in Buffalo.

I'd take .240 with defence all day at 2B. Goins is basically auditioning for the position right now. I like his chemistry with Reyes in the field as well. We'll have a decent sample size by the end of the season to see what we have.
That's what she said.
