Brandon Marshall

Post#1 » by RedBulls23 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:53 pm

A day after Brandon Marshall voiced some frustrations about his conditioning following offseason hip surgery, the Bears’ star receiver did not take part in practice.

You should be worried about a guy who makes every catch he can when he’s the center of Jay Cutler’s universe but suddenly develops the dropsies when the ball starts going to Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett.

Now I'm not one to overreact to anything this early when the season hasn't even started, but are any of you worried about Marshall, not necessarily being a problem; but having some issues this season?

Granted this all could just be him trying to light a fire under himself and just being a competitive Wide Receiver.

He'll only be a problem if the offense doesn't click. But that would be a bigger problem anyway. If the offense is clicking, he'll either be happy or the other key players on offense will more than counterbalance his poop with their pleasure.

Sounds like a mental problem, just like he's had at every other place he's played.

Sounds like he's trying to get his hip in order, it sounds like a planned day off to rest before the last pre season game which I assume the Bears already knew he wouldn't be in.

It's a non story, only douches like Waddle & Silvy would make it one.

Yep, it's been reported it was for a follow up appointment for his hip surgery.

that article felt like quite a reach to me. Marshall drops a couple balls in the preaseason and the trouble mining reporter becomes activated like a home alarm system when somebody opens the front door without a code. I'm worried about his hip. Not his attitude. He had no problems with other receivers catching balls in Denver. To say this:

You should be worried about a guy who makes every catch he can when he’s the center of Jay Cutler’s universe but suddenly develops the dropsies when the ball starts going to Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett.

come on Mark Potash. There are plenty of fish to catch elsewhere.

Despite Marshall’s record-setting season, the Bears’ offense still dropped from 24th to 28th in total yards last season. Is that yet another red flag or just another quirk of fate that has haunted Marshall’s career?

right, It was Marshalls fault the offense sucked. Because he caught the balls that were thrown to him that he was talented enough to get open for. But lets blame the offense on him.

A day after he lamented his recovering hip and fretted about his role on the team, he was gone — a pre-planned, excused absence for personal reasons. Who knows what the deal really is. But that’s just the point. With Brandon Marshall, there’s always something.

so after game 3 of the preseason, Marshall gets a day off, while ongoingly recovering from hip surgery, and this must mean he is a bad man. I've read some sky is falling stuff on the internet. But this guy writes for the Sun Times.

Mark here will be sure to have a problem, any problem with Marshall if he misses games because of the hip this year.

do we expect Mark Potash to issue a retraction? Or how about a trip to his own doctor for some anti anxiety medicine.

It's annoying, I wish I knew how Waddle & Silvy responded, on the radio callers were getting annoyed by their douchebaggery. They were saying it's a big deal & it could mean Marsh is going bi polar again & that it's a big red flag. They were being jerks to any callers who said otherwise, as though there was no other possible reasoning.

^^^ well, we now know people were lying in the weeds waiting for the slightest thing to start jumping to conclusions over. Is Brandon Marshall going bipolar or whatever his anger issue was again? I have no idea. After 1 bad preseason game and a day off..I don't know why we should jump off a bridge already.

Yeah good call on that stuff. The article is not very well thought out and reads like Chicken little's diary.

I didn't think Waddle or even Silvy were being douchebags. And they weren't saying it was a big deal at all. They said they expect him to be ready to go when the season starts, but because of his personal stuff it's not just nothing that he is missing the next 4 days. To me it seemed some of the callers were the ones that were overreacting to their analysis.

“Brandon is accustomed to executing and playing at a high level, and being the perfectionist that he is, his expectations of himself are very high,” McGuire told ESPN. “Anything less than elite is unacceptable to him.”

Seems like Marshall just has higher expectations of himself. Which is good for obvious reasons. So likely he was just trying to light a fire under his own ass.

^^^wow though. The agent felt the need to squash this story. Now I'm getting worried

As one of the game’s elite players, Marshall wants to replicate his record-setting production of 2012 (118 catches for 1,508 yards) in 2013 or surpass it. At this point, his body isn’t in the right place physically for him to do that. A lack of conditioning from all the days off given by the coaching staff is a part of it. The truth of the matter, however, is that Marshall probably wants even more time off for his hip to sufficiently heal.

the above quote indicates to me that the recent weight gain Marshall had was more likely a result of being out of shape due to rehab limitations than a plan of action. In that case, I don't like being told untruths. Why tell me this was a plan to make his lower body stronger? It always sounded fishy. When your lower body (your wheels) hurts you should be cutting weight.
