I guess we'll see. KL was also writing about Charlie V boxing and being in the best shape of his life not too long ago.

Re: Will Rodney Stuckey Bounce Back?
Great thread. The best thing about the Pistons this year is the talent level is considerable higher than the past few years. And at the guard spots, you are seriously going to have to earn your minutes because there are guys on the bench that think they should be starting.
PG: Jennings or Billups or Bynum or Stuckey
SG: Billups or Stuckey or KCP or Singler
There are not enough minutes so the competition should be high. And Stuckey is in a contract year, likely to be his last big contract - but only if he can get double digits scoring and playing very efficiently. I think he'll step up his game and come to camp in good shape. But he'll have some quality players he'll have to beat out to get any minutes. Camp should be interesting.

Great post big, it is quite amazing that JJ, Singler, CV, and Bynum might not find minutes because we have better players. actually quite encouraging

Re: Will Rodney Stuckey Bounce Back?
Yeah, I think those are hindsight things, especially re-signing Bynum when we're loaded at the guard position. It's quite disturbing we have so much baggage right now, but I think they'll set up as nice trade pieces down the line. We shouldn't despair so much...yet.Blkbrd671 wrote:theBigLip wrote:Great thread. The best thing about the Pistons this year is the talent level is considerable higher than the past few years. Re: Will Rodney Stuckey Bounce Back?
I've seen Stuckey play enough to say that he's actually a solid player and just needs coaching. I think he could be our Stevenson (Pacers). I don't have much evidence but the evidence that I do have suggests that Stuckey is good when it comes to the Playoffs. He can get to the line pretty well. I gave up on Stuckey a while ago but I wonder what he could do in the postseason. There are plenty of players out there that are better in the Playoffs than the regular season. I believe Stuckey is one of them. I just don't think he's good enough to start and he's Meade me mad the last couple of years.

Stuckey will be strictly used as a 2 guard. I don't mind him if he comes off the bench but he's not a fit with the starting lineup. I think Stuckey will go back to being average as long as he's not mis-used as a spot up shooter. But, Id still prefer if Stuck got traded and Im hoping this is his last season as a Piston.

Re: Will Rodney Stuckey Bounce Back?
Malik (Muenster, Germany): Do you think the Pistons will hold on to Stuckey if he proves to be a good combo guard? Despite all the talk, I think he still has so much potential.
Langlois: He’s on the roster now, despite rampant speculation he would be traded (and, to be fair, the speculation made sense because Stuckey’s contract status makes him an attractive trade candidate), and Maurice Cheeks has dropped some pretty broad hints that he anticipates Stuckey playing a big role. Pistons management is expecting a big season out of Stuckey based on what they’re seeing and hearing from him this summer. By all indications, including what Stuckey told me last week, the new coaching staff has struck a chord with him.
DAMIT , as soon as i read that i could feel myself gettin back on the bandwagon. son of B*!

Re: Will Rodney Stuckey Bounce Back?
I think Stuckey is capable of playing a role on a good team...
His ability to initiate the offense & bring good D add to his size & strength.
Many have stated for years now that he'd be a much better weapon coming off the bench as the 3rd guard. Ideally that's what role he plays this season.
