This move still makes little sense to me, we already have a much younger more athletic stretch big in Byron Mullens. Its seems we would have went after a tough banger like Ivan Johnson instead.
I think we still have a roster spot open but that will probably be left open for random ten day contracts.

Maybe we package Green and Wayns in a deal for a big.

Re: Bigman thread
The Clippers did have interest in Ivan Johnson....
Ivan Johnson to play in China
"It's a 3½-month season," Haylett said. "We plan on coming back to the NBA after the CBA season."
Before Johnson inked his Chinese deal, the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers all were in talks for his services.
The 29-year-old Johnson, who became an NBA player in 2011 and has played only for the Atlanta Hawks, was initially campaigning for a mini mid-level contract.
But as the free-agent market changed with similarly sized and skilled forwards signing for the veteran's minimum, Haylett said a deal for around $3 million would be "tough" to get.

Well lets hope Ivan Johnson goes to the CBA , gets good minutes, polishes his skills, then comes back to the US and finish the season with the Clippers. That's pretty much what KMart did a couple of seasons ago and that worked out well for the Clips.

The Clips need more toughness up front and therefore re-sign Hollins and sign Mullens and Jamison? What is the front office thinking. Bringing Johnson in would have been a good idea. Even an old tough like Kurt Thomas would help. Somebody that will stick up the front court bullies is sorely needed.

Johnson wanted more than we could offer him. He wanted $2.5-3M as opposed to the minimum. We did have the Bledsoe TPE (~$2.6M). As an early bird free agent, the most we could offer him in a S&T was 175% of his previous salary, which would come out to $1.68M.
If there is still a need later in the season, perhaps we go after him once the CBA season is over.
