When we are down 1 with a minute let or whatever the scenario may be I think they should give it to Moose and clear out. He overpowers small guys and is too quick for big guys and is very good at creating his own shot. When theres 5 or less seconds I see them trying to get the ball to Jennings because of his creativity and good shooting with Chauncey on the three point line waiting for a pass.

I'd say Jennings, unless Monroe takes that next step this year. Which is completely possible IMO.

The seemingly obvious answer is: no one player in particular. We don't have LeBron, Melo or Durant or Kobe - some transcendant offensive star. We have way more of a balanced team than those guys play on, but even on teams with top offensive guys like that, you get a Ray Allen taking the last shot.

More likely we have a core go-to lineup, than one go-to guy.

the biggest issue is whos going to step up in the last 5 or 6 minutes of close games. it probably wont be Moose, he tends to disappear in the 4th, and im not sure if BJ or Smith are going to be efficient enough to get it done in crunch time. the final shot is one thing, theres plenty of guys on the team who wont shy away from taking it if it comes down to it, but usually its the 5 or 6 minutes leading up to the final shot where the games decided.

Team ball has its strengths and its weaknesses, after all.

Who was the go to guy when the D won the Ship??

Chauncey with under 5 seconds, Rip with a decent shot clock to work with.

I think the majority of teams in the nba need to get rid of the 'well let's run an iso with the game on the line' mentality. there are very few players that can do it with consistency in the regular season and even less in the playoffs.

the best thing would be to run a play where the whole team is involved, everyone is moving and there are multiple shots that the team can take when they run the play. the goal is to get the best shot possible and believe it or not most of the time that will be by running a play unless you have a player like LeBron or Durant. heck running a high pick and roll with smith and Jennings and having Monroe on the weak side and KCP and billups or something on the perimeter to stretch the floor would be a better bet than having any one player on this roster going one on one with the game on the line.

the only exception I guess there would be is if they ran a play to create an iso mismatch. get a big on Jennings at the top of the key or a smaller player on smith or Monroe a little closer to the basket.
