The Detroit Tigers are expected to shut down Octavio Dotel because of forearm stiffness.
"That's 99.9%," Jim Leyland said. "When he went up to Triple-A Toledo, he tried to get a little more and he did get a little more actually, but the forearm just tightened right up."
Dotel was hit with a comebacker on Tuesday, but Leyland said that was not related to the issue at hand.
"This was strictly arm," he said. "I think what happened was he tried to step it up when he went to a higher level and he got forearm tightness again."
The 39-year-old could be done in the Major Leagues.
