We are full of 7-9th men. We could really use even a legitimate 6th man. That is, if we aren't stealth tanking.

Why would any team give up a guy capable of being a legitimate 6th man -- I'm guessing by that you mean some type of scorer on the wing -- for that trade package?

I guess it would have to be a team that has two of those guys and struggles defending the pick and roll.

Henson is our 6th man.

No he can't. It would be Mayo back there if Ridnour or Knight were to go down IMO.

Neal played 13% of the minutes at PG for the Spurs and as a scorer he has a size advantage at the position and can get his shot off easier. Overall he was less of a net negative at PG than SG. He is adept at running a few PnR plays so as long as you aren't asking him to do too much he is fine, which really is all you can ask out of him in an emergency role that you have specified. I would imagine if that were the case though we would explore trade options or just unleash Giannis and see what the kid can do with the ball in his hands. Gary Neal is the guy you bring in off the bench when you are down big or you are looking to step on the gas and put a game out of reach, maybe he shoots you back in the game or he misses and lets the other team back in it. A double edge sword is only a useful tool for an experienced coach.

Butler and RJ were better overall players. It's a moot point though; they're all just keeping that seat warm for Joe Johnson. :)

Yep. Joe Johnson is just about old enough and just about washed up enough for the Bucks to make a run at him!!

Next year ya think?

He probably had Ginobili along side him for most of those PG minutes.

He is in no way, shape, or form a PG.

He had Ginobili was on the floor with him 43% of the time he played PG, just like I would imagine Mayo would be if he played PG with the Bucks. Obviously he's not the best option but he's better than Ish, lol.

99% chance that 2nd rounder is better than Jimmer.

Oh, I don't know about that. There's no reason Jimmer can't be Eddie House or better, which is better than most 2nd rounders. He can shoot the hell out of the ball and that's always going to have some value, even if he was the worst defending collegiate guard I've ever seen.

I know you're right I was just kind of saying it for effect. Still, he does suck.

In the right system I bet Jimmer would blow up and I'd love to have him as our third guard. Outstanding shooter, gets to the line at a solid rate and doesn't turn the ball over much. Plus he's durable. The Kings are such a disaster.

Eddie House while also an undersized SG, he at least was really quick which allowed him to not be completely helpless defensively, especially if he could be matched up against a PG. Jimmer though is completely helpless defensively and can't guard anyone. He's to small to guard shooting guards and way to lacking in quickness to defend point guards. Unless in a given game he's really draining threes, he's a big liability because he offers nothing else on offense and is brutal defensively.

I am curious whether Butler really is the "starter" BuckPack said we were pursuing earlier.

Seems likely since reports indicated we chased him for a while.

Yes, I think Butler was the guy BP was talking about.

I'd prefer to keep Udoh and trade Ersan. I think Udoh is a little underrated around this board.

Even if Udoh is a little underrated here I still think you trade him if you can get any value at all. He's in the last year of his deal and he has a decent sized QO that I wouldn't want to pay him. You want to lock him up long term? I'd rather they just cash his chip for whatever.

Depends on Ersan for me. I'd keep him long-term if looking to move Ersan, but would move him if Ersan is a keeper.

Udoh is not even going to be worth his QO.

If we can't trade him, I wouldn't even give him the QO which is about $5-$6M.
