Kazlauskas was completely outcoached, ill advised rotations and late time-outs. Absolutely dreadful offense,

Have you been watching the game at all? Jonas is one of the worst players on the court today.

I wouldn't put it that way. He hasn't even played enough to be one of the worst. He's been playing for like 2 minutes at a time. If anything he's just been invisible. His foul trouble has been his issue and he wasn't hit once on a roll and was fed very little in the post.

His defense has been bad but Krstic has been killing everyone today it seems.

You're starting to talk too much bro. You obviously don't know Kazlauskas well enough

He has coached the top Euro clubs (Zalgaris, Olympiakos, CSKA) as well as the Chinese and Greek NT... including when Greece won it all. He also helped China be relatively competitive against top 10 teams.

Serbia outplayed LTU and that's it. Sure in hindsight some rotations weren't good and defensive adjustments were too late, that's inevitable in every game. Javtokas was the right guy to start at C. D-Mo is like the 11th man on this team and the Lav brothers are better than him.

I guess he was just a moron for the whole Olympic tournament then.

Much easier for us to criticize behind a keyboard 8-) . Probably a little tougher in real-time in the arena.

Serbia outplayed LTU... players more to blame for sure. Kleiza missed too many shots. Lav brother constantly whining like a b1tch.

Yet he was outcoached by Dusan Ivkovic yet again.

well no matter how you twist it 1FG attempt and 11 min for JV is unacceptable.

Yeah Serbia looks awesome and they're fun to watch. So yes they just outplayed Lithuania. But as far as last year, Kemzura was a nob. There were a couple players he seemed to personally hate, Jonas being one of them.

Today, there are a few things I'd criticize but I haven't had any issues with this coach during the friendlies.

It was a bold decision which failed in three ways. First Javtokas did not do a squat against Krstic. Second, our offense with Javtokas is very predictable as he is absolutely no threat from anywhere - which allowed Serbs to cheat leaving him open and defend aggressively on others. Third and most important, it send a bad message to Jonas who was supposed to be main center. You do not mess up your star players mind by telling him you not good enough to start no matter the opponent. It was not the first time Jonas faced Krstic - just ride him 30 min or until he fouls out. Javtokas should only see floor during blowouts in the future.

Pathetic display. At least if could be worse, you could lose to Finland or Germany.

I really dont understand this logic. Who cares coach is foreign, this is fundamental level nationalism.

I thought they had 2 options. Start Javtokas and try to guard Krstic. Or, start Jonas and try to attack Krstic right away, try to put him into foul trouble or at least exhaust him a lil bit more. They went Dwayne Casey route.
Javtokas start was justified, but it failed miserably.

I disagree. Javtokas was out there b.c. of his size albeit Kristic dominated him too If JV started he would've picked up 2 quick fouls and been on the bench... then he would've play scared for the rest of the game.

In hindsight they should've double-teamed Kristic 2 minutes into the game.

And Kleiza needs to come off the bench. If they're not posting him up he shouldn't be out there. Start Kuzminskas who is arguably a better shooter, and better defender and rebounder.

In other news, Germany beat France. :o

Welp not really. It's our NATIONAL team. Plus there's no need for a foreign coach really.

Krstic was backing Javtokas like ragdoll, plus Javtokas is shorter and lighter then JV so how this makes any sense? How about our offense with Javtoka vs JV and mental aspect of keeping JV on the bench? Please address all my points.

Huh? I think JV love is starting to reach new levels of fanboyism.
The offense is better with Valanciunas - nobody is arguing that. But you cant be truly implying that he's a better defender then Javtokas?

And Javtokas is still a better defender.

I'm not going to blame Kleiza's inability to make a shot or poor movement away from the ball on any C. Javtokas can finish a short hook and roll to the basket anyways. JV posted up 4 times and only scored once. He also got one charge.
