What exactly does AJ Styles bring to the WWE that isn't already there? The report was WWE doesn't want to sign TNA guys like AJ because it's a case of small fish in a big pond. If AJ comes to the WWE he'll never be in the main event light, there's nothing for him there.
Only people worth signing and actually making an immediate impact would be Sting & Kurt Angle.
And speaking of the WWE in general, as someone who has been less angry at the WWE for their product the last two years than others I have to say it's been pretty decent. They have a lot of potential but they're not capitalizing on everything.
Ryback being a bully fits him nicely & he seems like a natural at it, problem is he has no heat on him, no buzz at all. Reason for that is because creative had him pretty over with the fans late last year, they foolishly booked themselves into a corner by trying to put him in title matches too early, they didn't give him the title & just left him hanging. Then there were reports about him asking to be a heel, they gave in but they didn't give him a convincing heel gimmick then they switched it up and gave him a bully gimmick.
Then you have the tag team division that looked very promising last year then Vince & creative gave up on the division and focused on PTP, then they gave up on PTP for whatever reason and focused back on the Uso's, then they randomly paired Jack Swagger with Antonio Cesaro...it's just a clausterfu*k. Speaking of Cesaro it's a shame with him too, Vince loved Cesaro but apparantly he got put in the dog house because CM Punk wore a Cesaro shirt and basically said Cesaro should be treated better.
And then of course there is Dolph Ziggler who got put in a great position with a John Cena program but the problem was the program wasn't interesting. Blame it on Cena making it the underdog story once again or Dolph's promo's not being hard hitting but it was just meh. And then after all of that Dolph, Big E & AJ were all set to be a title family but Dolph gets a concussion, that messes everything up, WWE puts Dolph on a lower peg, Dolph complains publicly that Randy has a lot of power backstage & last monday Dolph gets a beat down punish live on Raw.
But WWE is doing some good, the Punk/Heyman feud is fantastic, Daniel Bryan is finally a main eventer, John Cena is a point in his career where he doesn't need the title to be a main eventer so creative can put him in fueds and it won't have to do with the title, The Shield is still a heavy presence, there's rumors of Paige getting called up, Husky Harris has a legitimate old school gimmick that works although it's confusing the crowd, HHH is heel again. I just don't have faith in the booking to be consistently but there's a lot of potential.
