Really nice shooting, but I don't think it'll happen every game. In a few years though, Germany could be for real...

Nah, they'll probably get trashed by Belgium and GB now and nobody can explain why.

Is that you, Tony Parker?

Lithuania guards can't compete with Serbia's, and Teodosic is out.

Oui!

Seriously, they'll get overhyped by the media and some players will get suckered in and perform accordingly. But if they go on a run, then everything is possible. Like the new coach, finally someone is talking German to these guys.

Haha, btw. I'm not salty, I'm German myself so, yeah. :D

Yeah our media is notorious for getting hyped over a first round win of our bball team at the EuroBasket.
Sure it was France, but overall they're not gonna give a f*ck

Can't you just be happy about the win today?

My expectations are low, too. But every win is great for this young team. The win they got tonight was HUGE.

Well they tried to hype Ohlbrecht as the new Dirk... But usually I try to avoid German media talking about Basketball, they have no idea what they are talking about. Earlier I read something about Houston Rockets player Schröder. They are known for overhyping everything though.

Hell yeah I'm happy. I went crazy! How can you not if Buschmann is the announcer? :D
Hope ARD won't use the guys from the olympics for their games.

I mean we already beat Israel, Britain is barebones at best and Belgium, well it's Belgium.
If we can get somewhat consistent shooting (and I don't see why not since Hamann isn't PG anymore, thank god)
from our several shooters, that's gonna open things up for Pleiss under the basket.
As long as Heiko can spoon-feed him there (which worked great several times today) we could really do some damage.

@GigiDatome leads Italy with 25 points and 8 rebounds in the team's 76-69 victory over Russia at #EuroBasket2013. Go Gigi! #Pistons

I hope he can translate to the NBA. Sounds like a great talent to have off the bench.

Germans shot ~ 60% from the field. Dat France defense needs some adjustment.

They did in the last tournaments, they just lost to a better team in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
This year their frontocourt is severely weakened though.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

i hope the semis and the final will come up on an common sport torrent site. 3 games should be enough until the preseason will start.

Spain doesn't have a full roster either, they're missing Pau, Ibaka, Navarro and Reyes. Still with so many absences in the tournament they should be heavy favourites with Marc, Rudy and their plethora of quality PGs.

Keep an eye on Gonzaga's Karnowski - most likely a 1st round pick next year. Played just 7 minutes against Georgia, but went 4/4 from the field and 1/1 from the free throw line. Hopefully he will get more playing time today against Czech Republic.
