Good for him. I'm all for him (or anybody) going over seas and working on their game rather than the D-League, which i haven't really been impressed with. I will be excited to see him in a year or two in a Hawks uniform.

I'm still not sure what is going on with Bebe?

Nogueira's apparently fighting going back to Spain.

Do we know if Mucala will be playing in the same Spanish League as Bebe?
Seems like a potentially fun matchup to see those guys go head to head.

Yes they are.

Obradoiro CAB (due to sponsorship issues, now called Río Natura Monbús) is playing Estudiantes on the 4th and 5th of January and on the 3rd and 4th of May weekends.

Here you can see the full schedule for the year in ACB:

A little bit of Muscala in last Saturday preseason game:

http://www.crtvg.es/informativos/homexa ... ion-670596

He is looking really good. He needs to adapt to euro ball though, and to our coach's style of play, but he showed great great promise.

Just to be clear, we were playing against Real Madrid, who has arguably the best frontcourt in Europe.

I read Muscala dropped 18 pts and 12 rebs in his pre-season debut.

YOWZA. Obviously it was just an exhibition. But it beats him being completely overmatched against other European Competition.

He's just got to get stronger, so he can take Antic's spot on the roster next season.

Here you have the highlights of our first win of the season, after starting 0-3. On the same webpage are the other games.

I don't know if it can be seen on the States.

Muscala is doing great for know, being easily our best and more consistent player, averaging 15,3 pts and 8,1 rebs in 25 minutes of play, on 43% FG and 93% FT.

Just if you want to check it out, Muscala is keeping a "Youtube diary" about his life here in this (homer alert) wonderful and utterly beautiful city that is Santiago de Compostela.

The videos are in his Youtube account. Here is the one from October.

Seems like a really nice guy and gives everything on the court, hope he gets to play in the NBA just as Robbie Hummel did this year.

This guy is on another level. I've been holding my thoughts, only if it was just a thing of 2-3 games, but now we are 11 games into the season and this guy performed brilliantly in almost everyone of them.

He's had some foul trouble early on (just as every american does when they come to play in Europe) but he's getting used to the way refereeing works here and in our last game his first foul came late in the 3rd quarter.

On the rest of the game, he is just astonishing. Offensively he shows great awareness, always knowing where to be, strength and toughness, and he is just a talent attacking the low post. Can finish over both shoulders, and has a pretty decent mid range jumper. And he is unbelievable from the FT line, a big big man shooting 88,4% on 38/43 for the season.

And what surprised me the most, his rebounding skills. he is now leading the league on 8,4 rebounds a game playing just 26 minutes. And we've got some pretty bad losses in the process. Defensively is quick and strong, can take the defense of the pick and roll to the half court line if he's asked to, and then go back to defend his man. Very very long arms.

He is a true talent and someone that has everything to have a pretty successful NBA career. Loads of more potential than Nogueira in my opinion.

Our team is now 4 - 7, we won against 2 TOP 16 euroleague teams (FC Barcelona and Unicaja Málaga) but we also lost badly against some low profile ACB teams. So, ups and downs on the season, we could still make a run to get into the cup (or into the playoffs, but for that there is still a long way to go) or keep fighting to avoid relegation, which seems the probable case.

So, we are halfway through the season and we had ours ups and downs. Now finally we are in a 3 win streak that we'd like to improve in two weeks time, after the Copa del Rey break.

And Mike is consistently showing what he's capable of, being designated the MVP of the Week just today. He had a tremendous game against who is currently the MVP of the league (Sekulic) and a playoff team, ending with 25 points on 10/13 FG and 5/6 FT, and 8 rebounds. His highlights as the MVP of the week:

http://acbtv.acb.com/video/6803-lacb-20 ... jornada_18

And the highlights of the team's victory:

http://acbtv.acb.com/video/6797-lacb-20 ... ura_monbus

Mike is now averaging 14,3 PTS (9th all league) 8,11 RBS (1st all league) on 52,97% FG and 86,57% FT.

Thank you for the update.

Muscala looks like a fine prospect in this last video. I was especially impressed with how easily he switches to his left hand, even though he's right handed, and how varied his offense is. He appears custom-made for Budenholzer's offense.

It's probably just wishful thinking but he appears to have one of those bodies that mature late. I checked and his max vertical reach is .5" less than Horford's and only 2.5" less than YKW. Dreaming of 30 more lbs and an improved vertical leap in our training program.

Checked on Nogueira and, as best as I can see, he's still rehabbing his knee.

Maybe Ferry is just better at finding 2nd rounders than 1sts.
