JV +23. Big impact on both ends. Kalnietis was open all night because of him.

Point difference matters to advance to the next round. Very important to win by the biggest margin as possible, or loss by the smallest.

Good game by D-Mo, JV and Kalneitis. Kleiza shouldn't start.

Kalnietis would be so much better if he had a reliable jumper.
I think coach should start JV, as it's 2 games in a row with Javtokas failing to do much.
And yes, Kleiza was atrocious so far. Hope he will get it going when it really matters.

He is not consistent. One night he can hit anything from anywhere, but the next day...

He needs to come off the bench to space the floor. He's best when he catches and shoots. He's also good in the post but the problem is that the usually gets a foul trying to get deep position. This team shouldn't operate through him.

I love the JV and DMo pair. DMo still tends to make bad decisions (lazy passing, passing crosscourt as he did today, shooting too much after he makes 1 basket, fouling when battling for a rebound, etc.) but I wouldn't mind trying to start him.

Kuzminskas looked great in the friendlies so not sure why he's not in the game. He's arguably better than Kleiza now. And only 1 Lav brother at a team. Pair him w/ Javtokas to protect the paint and to rebound.

LTU plays Latvia tomorrow at 11:45am EST

And here's how Latvia won today :o

Dragic 18 pts, 6 rbs, 7 asts, 0 TOs 8-)

Also, kind of feel bad for Macedonia. They got screwed by the refs against Montenegro and that T was unnecessary today. The end against Montenegro was a lot worse though, and they were winning that game by 7 points with under 2 minutes left.

So what, Spain is stacked top to bottom except for the absence of Pau Gasol?

Jose had 14 points, Rubio, Fernandez, Marc Gasol, Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Llull. Shouldn't lose even though Slovenia has two Dragic.

Slovenia's playing at home. That matters a lot in Europe.

Kalnietis should not have shot those 2 extra free throws, but one of the guys one Macedonia played the last 40 seconds with 5 fouls. What horrible officiating

That statline is a big deal considering Slovenia scored 78 pts. 18 pts directly from Goran and 7 assists is indirectly at least another 14 pts... and his brother had a good game with 12 pts. So Goran carried at least 40% of the offensive production.

I only caught glimpses of the 2nd and 4th quarter so I can't give many other reasons. Statistically Spain shot the ball well and outrebounded Slovenia 38-26, but they turned the ball over 14 times compared to Slovenia's amazing only 5 TOs :o .

This tournament is very balanced. You're not seeing much blowout wins. And historically **** teams (Finland, Latvia, etc.) are doing well. Teams ranked from 1-8 pre-tournament is a toss up albeit Spain and Greece remain the favorites. Spain has Gasol but they're front court is not that impressive. Their liability is at PF and SF. They have athletic guards but you can't play them all at once and Lull, Rubio, Fernandez are very streaky shooters.

Anyways here's JV's statline:
