Re: 2013
Van Persie cut a frustrated figure at Anfield on Sunday and looked close to losing his cool several times.
A friend of Van Persie - who has been the Premier League's top scorer for the last two seasons - said: "Robin isn't happy and when that's the case he can't hide it on the pitch.
"When he's frustrated he is capable of doing something silly, and you could see that against Liverpool.
"He feels it isn't the same with the new manager as he misses working with Fergie, who he really loved playing under. Some of Moyes' training methods are not to his liking either."
The English press is so full of crap. LOL!

Re: 2013
Cut his wages in half and I bet Villa would take him back
I'd want him at Spurs but we already have Lennon and townsend

If we decided to sell, I'm sure he will have a very good market from any of the mid table teams, he still has a good cross and can deliver a great set piece, so that's always a valuable skill in England. I mean Charlie Adam's pudgy ass fetched like 10 million for his set pieces alone.

Yeah, the transfers that happen in England are outrageous. Some of them make even the Russian clubs and Real look almost frugal and carefully planned.

The difference is that there aren't many homerun deals exceeding 30 mil in the premier league as is often the case with Real or Russians. There's just far too many 16 - 24 mil players who are noticeably average on best days. I mean I think Darren Bent was sold twice and he fetched close to 16 mil on both occasions.

Negredo for 25 mil. €
Fellaini for 32 mil. €
Sakho for 20 mil. €

Comparison:
Country|∑ Top 10 transfers|Players<€20m|Players < €10m
England|323.700.000 € | 17 | <50
Spain | 392.900.000 € | 23 | <50
Italy | 327.200.000 € | 19 | <50
Germany|246.600.000 € | 5 | 22
How to read it:
Top 10 transfers of players with English nationality are cumulated 323.700.000 €. 17 English players were sold above 20 million Euro. Over 50 English players were sold above 10 million Euro (my tool only works with top 50).
Top 10 transfers of players with German nationality are cumulated 246.600.000 €. 5 German players were sold above 20 million Euro. 22 German players were sold above 10 million Euro.
There are a lot of factors, which you would have to take into consideration, but it seems like German players are the bet gambles, while spanish players are the most expensive.
EDIT: Anyway, Brazil would top all of this countries easily...

We'll see if they really did waste their money, but what's wrong with Championship or even League One players being bought for millions? Championship especially is a legit league with some decent talent. 17 Championship players moved for 1M+ this summer but most of them were from PL's relegated teams anyway. It's not like all 2.Bundesliga players are sold for under a million either.
btw West Ham is a pretty big club. Ranked near 30th in Football Money League before they got relegated and I wouldn't be surprised if they cracked 20's after the new TV deal. They also landed a new 60,000 seater for close to nothing.

They didn't waste their money. However, they pay much more than the players are realistically worth to get them.
The way it is currently:
Foreign team 1 wants to sell player xy who is worth 15 mil. €.
Foreign team 2: "Hey, FT1 can I buy player xy for 15 mil. €?
FT1: No.
FT2: Ok, for 17 mil. € FT1?
FT1: Possibly, yes......Ring Ring, oh wait I have another incoming call.
English team 1: Hey this is England calling, we offer you 30 mil. for player xy when can he make the medicine check?
FT1: I'm sorry FT2 he got sold to the EPL.
And if this sheet....
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/transferuebersicht/wettbewerb_GB2.html
....is only half decent there have been 13 transfers in or out of the championship this season alone that would immediately make the current top 50 2nd Bundesliga transfers.
As a comparison no 2nd Bundesliga transfer this year could make the top 50 Championship transfers. Not even Leon Goretzka to Schalke who is a lock to make it to the German national team one day baring injury.
Tell me what you want but you can compare England with every other country and the transfer sums paid even for lower level players are inflated. It is almost like you are worth a million as soon as you can walk on a straight line.
