Sweden is up 69-54 against Russia with 4 minutes left. God, that Russian team is bad.

JT has 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 7 turnovers.

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_NBA 8m
Jeff Taylor with a reverse dunk off a back-cut. Has 23 points. Has apparently become Blake Griffin at EuroBasket.

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_NBA 21m
Flipped to Sweden-Russia just in time to see Jeff Taylor pull an (almost) 360-degree dunk on an in-game fast break. Yowza.

if anyone finds highlights of the 360 dunk, please post the clip.

i really enjoy listening to you euros talk about this tournament.

what are the current rules in fiba for a player to be allowed to play for another country? i know in fifa you at least have to have been born in the country or have a parent with citizenship of that country. the usa soccer team has been trying to find guys from europe and mexico with dual citizenship recently. we have brought in a lot of german-american players to the team. most are guys who had a german mom and a us military dad (stationed in germany) and have spent their entire lives in germany, but now play for usa.

taylor has a very underrated passing game. 4 minutes into the game and he has already made three beautiful passes. should have 3 assists, but two of the passes were blown by the other player.

taylor also really looking to put the ball on the floor and create off the dribble. his handle is a little loose for NBA standards. if he tightens that up he could really expand his game.

taylor just showed that mashburn style post up baseline fadeaway for two points.

then a coast to coast layup in traffic. he is so much more athletic than anyone on the court.

taylor steals the ball, hits teammate on a 2-on-1 fast break. instead of passing back to taylor for the easy layup, the teammate travels.

followed by taylor with another steal and a dunk.

why is it that every time the bobcats play the pistons jerebko looks like andrei kirilenko, but the two games i have watched him with sweden he looks like a bench scrub.

taylor killing it on both ends. playing some nasty defense.

and another low post layup.

and almost another steal.

and another blown assist for taylor. thats four.

my criticism of taylor, since it cant be all roses and lollipops...

- needs to tighten up his handles.
- still figuring out how to be a facilitator at higher levels. a few too many turnovers on lazy passes and a sometimes he makes the extra pass when he would have been better taking the shot (some of the four blown assists were cases where taylor should have probably taken the shot)
- gambles a lot on defense and cheats a lot off his man, essentially floating around looking for steals. not sure if this is by design.
- rarely boxes out.
- needs to improve from the ft line
