Official:Suns "least watchable" team next season

Post#1 » by ATF » Fri Sep 6, 2013 2:43 am

USA TODAY is ranking NBA teams based on "watchability", from least to most. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2013/09/05/watchability-rankings-phoenix-suns-goran-dragic/2755761/ In at #30, or the least watchable team, are the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns may have the worst-constructed roster in basketball, and watching Dragic and Bledsoe take shots that no one else is more qualified to take won't be pretty.

Can't say I'm too shocked, but less watchable than Philly? That's hitting below the belt.
Suns.

The Suns can't be worse to watch than Philly or Charlotte

Worst constructed roster?? I guess they'd rather watch Royce white play. Oh wait.

The Suns are the most watchable team next year, because I'm a Suns fan and if it weren't for the Suns, my basketball consumption would be down to zero a long time ago.

I didn't read the article but I am sorry...The team we have put together will be a very entertaining with their fast break style...Spurs made it to the finals and were still considered boring...So least watchable? **** no.

And second I still think people are underestimating our players and will be very surprised next year.

Analysts only go with the "predicted" favorites over the underdogs because if they pick a favorite and are wrong its normal if they pick a underdog and are wrong they are stupid.

People that think winning = fun are so wrong and it hurts my hear to know that that there are people out there that think this way.

Yeah, thats bunk. We're going to push the pace, we've got some guys who, while they may stink, can throw it down (Green, Brown). Its certainly not one of the MOST exciting teams but just off the top of my head I'd say the Bobcats (Jefferson hitting 8 foot jumpers might be effective but its boring as hell) the Hawks (dull team, dull uniforms, dull players, empty building even when they win) and the Jazz (Favors and Kanter are good but dont make for great highlights) are all teams that IMO will be a lot duller than we.

Some of our games against the better defensive teams who get back in transition are going to be horrific because our half court offense looks like it will be a disaster. Outside of those nights I think we will make for some decent high lights even if the end result isnt pretty.

I am looking forward to see Bledsoe, Dragic, Len, Goodwin, Morris twins, Tucker, Plumlee... develop and grow as a team. So, it mos def won`t be unwatchable, dull or something.

At the same time, cannot wait for NCAA season to start, I`m curious to see what player(s) would project the best in the Suns` system potentially.

The Thunder were awful until Westbrook was slotted next to Durant, and even then they only won 23 games his rookie year - BUT they were exciting and that excitement built up as they accumulated pieces. The fanbase was drawn in when they were dunking/running and they stayed after they started winning the year after.

We're not going to win 40 games, or 30 for that matter. But throwing a bunch of young guys together you can go two ways - the first is poor in both visual and basketball results, ie the Bobcats, so no wins and not good to watch. Or you can do what we're doing, which I suspect is admit in-house they're going to be awful/tank, but try and keep putting bums on seats by putting something out there with high character guys who WANT to be there, and be entertaining in doing that.

McD's brought in high octane athletes who make 'wow' plays to keep fickle fans from totally abandoning the team before we get through the dark and 'rise again' for want of a better phrase. Plumlee, Green, Bledsoe and Brown were all brought in/kept because they can fly/dunk (among other things...for Bledsoe at least).

Green and Plumlee are playing to stay in the league, so you at least know they'll play hard, even if their talent dictates that they're not NBA rotation guys. Tucker has overcome his physical limitations and lack of any sort of consistent outside shot to carve out a niche - much like Thabo or Andre Miller for two different types of player.

Vets like Tucker, Dragic, Gortat and Frye (ie vets) just need to be seen playing hard to dispel casual fans from saying 'tank'...even though everyone essentially knows it.

I think they're going to be very watchable and honestly I don't care what the record is as long as they play hard and stick to their development plan as a franchise - and it seems to be working.

Last year was awful because of the ridiculous Beasley signing (I DID support the signing, like many others I was lured by the Beasley siren), as well as the smart Scola addition - basically these buoys brought in to keep us afloat on an at best 40 win season. We were in a patched up dinghy and everyone else had jetboats or battleships.

This year we know we're out of our depth but McD knows Rome wasn't built in a day...

I think he said that when they went to the finals, they were considered boring, which seems to be the consensus amongst fans back then.

OKC had that crowd well before they even had a team there. It was the main reason behind Stern helping the move from Seattle. After hurricane Katrina happened, and NOH played in OKC, the crowd in OKC was doing quite well. As soon as the team moved from Washington, the crowd has been like a college fan base. They don't sit until their team scores (or opponents, I forget which one it is).

I think every fan base should be like that. I really wish the Suns fan base was even a third of that at our home games.

Yeah, Suns' crowd has to be amongst the worst in the NBA. Not THE worst, but pretty bad.

I'm still getting LP and will watch all the games I can :D

Regardless of having no playoff aspirations, I'll still be watching us play any change I get.

No way, we are AT LEAST more watchable than 76ers. Plus, I think that despite being a bottom feeder we are going to play an exciting type of basketball.

I'm way more exciting for this next season than the previous one.

I'm not sure how Sacramento is regarded higher than us, either. Maybe I'm biased.

This season has been so great. They have proved everyone wrong; I was being optimistic around here saying they'd win in the 30's this year lol. Here's to an even better 2014!
