HEAT considering re-signing Beasley

Post#2 » by Ratchet_Rio » Sat Sep 7, 2013 7:54 pm

The two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat are considering the possibility of bringing back troubled free-agent forward Michael Beasley, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Several of the Heat's key veteran players are supportive of the signing of Beasley, and he has a strong interest in returning to the franchise responsible for taking him with the second overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft, sources told Yahoo.

No offer has been made and no deal is considered imminent, sources said.

I'm a lot happier than I should be about this news. Must be Beasley's funny character more than anything because unfortunately dude was a bust. However, on this team he could serve as a 15 minute scoring punch off the bench.

Heat source says there's nothing to Beasley reunion reports. Carry on.

Do some guys want Beasley here? Sure. He's a talent. Does he want to be here? Yep. But that's about all to this one.

Just heard from Heat source that warned not to put much credence into report.

obviously I'm speculating about who the veterans are here. But say a combo of Wade/UD or even LeBron go to Riley and say we think this guy can help the team lets pick up, I'd be hard pressed to think that he wouldn't listen.

Beasley could be regular season fodder to help us rest our vets to keep them fresh for the playoffs.

He wouldn't see the floor in the playoffs though.

If we can get him for the minimum, why not. Stick him deep in the bench and hope that we can fix him, or simply use him in the regular season to rest our vets.

I remember his dad being pissed off about Riles sending him to Minny instead of letting him stay for the creation of the Big 3. Saying we made a huge mistake, etc...

Beasley never took basketball seriously. He was always a very talented offensive player..... but BONEHEAD is the word that comes to mind when I think of his play as a Heat player. Plus his defense sucked.

I'd say it is actually a great idea, IF signed for the vet min and he knows he won't see the court in the playoffs unless he drastically improves.

Hope that the Championship Pedigree and atmosphere can make him grow up fast. Being around Battier, LeBron, Ray Allen, all these professionals might give him role models to emulate and stop being so immature.

Look, the guy is young, athletic, and can shoot, kinda. He still has these things going for him.

The question is can he, and can we, reinvent him as a role player that feeds off our stars

IF we could get him play hard, to play D, to work on his 3 point shot and be more consistent with it, It is possible for him to be a nice stretch 4 on a very cheap contract.

Problem is, there are ZERO reasons to believe in his ability to step up to the plate, on or off the court. The guy is just totally unreliable in every way.

Nobody thinks he is being singed to crack the playoff rotation anyway. Cheap contract for a bench player with possible upside.

This is just a move to give us another fresh young talented scorer for the regular season. We have to keep our vets fresh this year so they can be ready for the playoffs. Beasley would do that. He'd get lots of burn in the reg season when possible.

Hey, and if we fix him and he improves, awesome.

Issues aside, we need fresh young legs on this team for practice and the regular season. Him being talented doesn´t hurt.

Well can't we sign in him for the 3.5 million mid level that we have left? He is so much talent but i doubt someone will sign him to the same contract that he had with the Suns. I think if he signs with the Heat i believe we will have an automatic 3Peat plus he will re energize his career. He needs to be back in Miami in my opinion because what other team will help their players to be focus and get on track, other then the Spurs its a good move for him to sign with us.

Id like him as a camp invite and taking it from there. If he accepts his role and begins to play defense, I say sign him!

I think you're overrating the **** out of Beasley.
He just needs to accept his new role which is probably defense and rebounding.
If he can't, kick his ass to the curb.

Overrating Beasley? Sorry but i am speaking the truth. He lacks that fire and motivation he has talent to be a solid Forward. And please explain how and what I'm overrating Beasley?
