Finland 10 up with 1 min left. Greece forced to win pretty much every game in the 2nd phase to get to the QF.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

This has to be the softest Greek team in recent memory. All it takes to beat them is 1-2 hot ballers.

Didn't watch the Turkey game... did the players look like they played with more energy? Wonder if they were sending a big F U to the Michael Jordan of Turkey or were genuinely interested in the game. I would assume the later and Sweden is a team that is easy to look good against.

In Israel vs. Belgium, a blowout isn't surprising against two lower tier opponents. Essentially takes one hot shooting streak to stretch those games.

Spain and Greece remain the top teams. Then France, Lithuania Serbia and Slovenia can do damage... but they also can choke against a bad team. An upset is actually probable for the latter teams (losing to teams such as Latvia, Ukraine, Finland in an important game) and I expect Spain or Greece to win it all.

Turkey looked a lot better defensively without Hedo.

As far as the last paragraph is concerned. Well, Greece just lost to Finland and will proceed to the second round with a 0-2 record. So, it's going to be very hard for us from now on.

In Group B the +/- will matter for Latvia and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Both play tough teams, Latvia vs. Serbia and Bosnia vs. Lithuania

In a two-way tie what matters the most is who won the game between the two teams that are tied.

Belgium beat Great Britain and Latvia beat Bosnia & Herzegovina so in a two-way tie it's Belgium and Latvia that advance.

Of course, the possibility of a 3-way tie (if Israel beats Germany in Group A or if Bosnia beats Lithuania in Group B) can complicate things.

Man, Teletovic could get so hot, but could chuck your team to a loss pretty easily. Nets aren't the place for him, he needs freedom in order to be effective.

Teletovic was on fire, he made a 3 from almost the half court line lol.

Anyone with knowledge on how the standings work- The announcer in Lithuania-Bosnia said that Bosnia need to win by 9+ to advance and since they didn't they're eliminated. My question is if Serbia was to somehow lose and get blown out by 20+ against Montenegro today, does Bosnia and Herzegovina have a chance to advance still, or are they completely eliminated?

There's no more interesting things in this group. Montenegro can win by any margin, it won't change anything. Serbia advances with 2 points, Lithuania - 1, Latvia - 0.

Bosnia wins, but not really :-?

I was watching the end of the game, didn't know exactly what was happening. Was terribly confused. I figured if Bosnia won they were in on account of head to head match ups. Didn't realize point diff. came first.

The team ahead was fouling to stop the clock it seemed. Both teams were playing to score right until the end. Never see that in NCAA/NBA.

Now it makes sense.

Italy still getting the job done. Winning. Who'd have thought Italy would be only undefeated team left, Russia out, Turkey out, Ukraine 4-1 atop Group A. Good job Mike Fratello......The Czar reigns in Ukraine.

Ah okay, thanks. They had a great chance being up by 16 with about 2:30 left, Lithuania went on a devastating 9-0 run!!

Bosnia can advance IF Montenegro beats Serbia by 14.

Serbia and Bosnia would have the same record and it would go to the +/- (i don't think it matters who beats who like it does in the NBA right?).

Correct, I believe it is just point differential. Not that I think Montenegro will beat Serbia by 14, but I was originally under the impression that Bosnia could still advance if Serbia loses by a certain amount like you said.

Yea I believe that the +/- is more important than who beat who. Someone please confirm this tho.

I'm not that familiar with the Balkan countries but it could be a political rivalry between Serbia & Montenegro albeit they are probably allies as they are both primarily Christian nations (others being Muslin). Not sure if any extra grift would motivate Montenegro to try to **** their neighbor.

Also, Montenegro loves to chuck 3s so anything is possible. Serbia does have decent wing defenders. If Kristic plays well then it should be a slow game and will be tough for Montenegro to cover that spread let alone beat Serbia. But in this tournament anything is possible.

Anyways, as it stands Serbia is +12, Bosnia is -1. 13 pts would be a tie but b.c. Serbia beat Bosnia then they would need to go to 14 to break that matchup tie... that's my logic. So Montenegro must win by 14

It doesn't matter if and by how many points Montenegro beat Serbia, because they (Montenegro) are mathematically eliminated already. The only point differential that matters is between the teams in tie break situation.
And even if Serbia loses and finishes with same 3 wins like Lithuania, Latvia and Bosnia, they have beaten all of those teams.

Anyway, kinda sad B&H choked away their chance. Don't know why their coach sat on his timeout and let Lithuania go on a 9-0 run. And Teletovic proved that he's a selfish stat-padding chucker by hitting both FTs with 10s left. He shoulda missed the second one and try to get the rebound, that was their only chance to get back to +10.

was it allowed in theory for bosnia to score 6 auto-points(in they own basket) and go to overtime in order to get another 5 minutes for making required 10+ difference?
