Favorite Piston Moment?
Wanted to see on this board which moment was a fan favorite. For me it would be the Microwave heating up and securing a win to eventually win the Ship. Which one is yours?

Re: Favorite Piston Moment?
Off the top of my head, Prince blocking the Reggie Miller layup.
When that happened I lost it. HUGE play.

2004 title win. Nothing beats toppling that loaded Lakers team in a punishing fashion.

Re: Favorite Piston Moment?
I was too young to see the first to championships in 89/90, and I can't justify any moment other than the 2004 title win.
Its not even close.

Re: Favorite Piston Moment?
Besides the obvious championship moments, one moment I'll always remember was the reg season game between the DET and WAS. Jon Barry hit the game winner and told the wizard fans to "GO HOME"
That was the first instance that the franchise had a new swagger about them. LOVED IT.

Re: Favorite Piston Moment?
Just want to dedicate this post to Joe Dumars the player after rewatching that block video. We hate on Joe D the general manager, but seldom remember that he was instrumental in every single one of our championships...two as a player. I really didn't get a chance to watch the Pistons back then, so can someone tell me just what was it that made the 6'3 Joe D such a great defender? A 6'3 guard picking up the league's best shooting guards is unheard of nowadays.

It was everyone, including the media, talking about how much time Sheed was devoting to getting fit during the off season, but to only come in very fat and OUT of shape every year.
It was that time i realized the media is full of !!!!. My favorite moment by far. My mind was opened.

Vinnie
Joe Louis Arena
1985 playoffs against a very good Celtics team that was in the middle of a run of 4 straight Finals with 2 'ships
Vinnie single-handed outscored the Celtics in the 4th quarter of game 4 to steal the game.
It was the game when the Bad Boys arrived - we could beat anybody, we just needed to learn to be consistent.
Edit: Oh, and Vinnie got the nickname Microwave from Ainge

In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

Re: Favorite Piston Moment?
I know this is kinda strange 'cuz it ultimately came in a losing effort, but Isiah scoring 25 points in the third quarter of Game 6 of the '88 Finals at the Forum against the Lakers (setting a Finals record for points in a quarter) ... ON ONE LEG because he had so badly rolled his ankle that he was limping up and down the court. The fact that the Lakers edged us in the final seconds actually kinda adds to its tragic beauty. I have never seen a player single-handedly try to will his team to victory like that, much less playing through a crippling injury. It was a truly stunning, gutsy, and awe-inspring performance.

The Block.
More than any other play, it's one that you remember where you were when you saw it and the disbelief and change of emotion you felt when Indiana was about to tie it up and take momentum, but Tay comes out of nowhere to put the Pacers to sleep...and against a superstar known as being clutch, no less. What an amazing play.

Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Trying to think of moments that arent super obvious.
I'd love to find the youtube clip of Corliss Williamson throwing the ball at Jermaine Oneal.

Gotta say, the most striking thing about that video is the score in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. Man, the elite level defenses (two squaring off here) were INSANE in the early part of the last decade.

This is from Pure Pistons, a recap of the 1990 NBA Championship. That's my Uncle Bob in the blue shirt and white hat rushing the court and hugging Isiah. He tried, but didn't make it to the locker room
