2.) You guys are forgetting how bad Frank was, JJ did not suceed because they had him playing the CV role. JJ is a hustle player that occasionally can make open shots, amazing plays and maybe that one extra bit of effort on that one play, not in a corner just shooting 3's.

3.) JJ is the type of player that can explode for 20+ and 10+ rebounds for 1 game but in reality is a 14, 8 player. he's exactly like stuckey where he's good in spurts, but when you let them play to long, they can hurt the team. i would love to see some form of JJ and Mitchneezy lineup next year.

All true.

Jonas was used as a stretch four with frank and that isn't his best role.
I believe he's a better SF personally, so i hope he gets minutes there. His size and relatively solid athleticism gives him an advantage there.
I could see cheeks using Singler and jonas at sg and sf for spurts because their size would be a big plus.

He doesn't possess enough range to be a 3 imo.. not in this era of the Nba.. in the past he would have been the perfect 3., not now, especially considering that also PFs and Cs of this team won't provide range

People do not understand Curry's reason for wanting to be a ballerina. He wanted to be able to contort his body to be able to fit in the fridge.

If Jerebko had adequate dribbling skills, he would be real effective at the 3.

he can hit an open three well enough to not be left alone on the perimeter. He can also play next to Datome who could play Stretch 4 or CV.
He's played his best basketball at the 3. He defends 3s better than 4s.

Energy players with some skills, like JJ has, always will find a spot in the league. He can shoot, make plays, and he's relentless as a player and a plus rebounder.

His problem with the Pistons is they already have a high energy player who seems slightly better in Singler. Kyle's got a chance to be a knockdown 3 pt shooter - ala Bruce Bowen, and he's got excellent handle and plays the game like a coach on the floor. And now with Datome, plus our big-3, it's just hard to imagine him getting PT. Plus, even if some minutes become available, he still has to compete with CV and Mitchell for them. Mitchell's future with the PIstons, given his supreme athleticism, is a serious risk to JJ ever finding a permanent home with the Pistons.

Personally, I'd love to trade CV, JJ and Stuckey for a good SG off the bench, and draft picks. It could happen sooner or later this season - especially with CV's and Stuckey's expirings.

I remember that too.
He said he didn't want Frank to return as coach when Jonas wasn't getting any burn.

I also remember seeing a quick interview with Jonas at the cheeks press conference and he seemed very happy to have a coaching change. I forget his exact words, but it was pretty clear he was excited to not play for frank.

i remember reading that too, which is interesting. Reportedly Frank and JJ relationship were on the rocks due to Franks criticism of JJ, and the first interaction JJ had with CHeeks was Cheeks lecturing JJ on playing around at the pistons facility in Flip flops. Yet JJ loved the way cheeks approached him.

One thing that excites me about Cheeks is it seems like our players actually want to go out and try

JJ with minutes would get 10points a game just on hustle, i would think he's improved his jump shot, so i odn't think 14,8 as a starter is out of his reach
