First time I heard about it. I'm not finding anything online about something dramatic going on with Shaq. Anybody knows what this is about?

That's exactly what he's saying. He's saying he would've been the perfect beta to Shaq's alpha. As opposed to trying to make a sidekick out of Kobe, who is obviously another alpha.

Debatable, but I understand what he's trying to say.

And he developed a rift with Vince precisely b/c they were cousins. Working with family is usually either a rousing success or ends up in flames lol. He didn't care about being anybody's sidekick, just as long as it wasn't family.
