I guess that's a good point of reference, since he'll likely be playing 8 minutes per quarter with us.

The small difference: we won't be playing Belgium-level teams.

It was Belgium. No way does Javtokas play again for a full quarter.

Anyone notice the gash in the picture? Wonder if JV will require stitches though didn't seem too bad of a cut.

By that you mean we are super rich and super insignificant? Close enough.

Well that, and we share the same national dish - Judd mat Gaardebounen. Ottawa has the best, IMO.

22/30 2pt fg 73.3% that's ridiculous!

Give him the damn ball.

To be fair, FG% doesn't tell the whole story. Doesn't Tyson Chandler lead the Knicks in FG%?

To be fair, he should play more than 18 mpg.

Jonas has yet to record a single assist in 7 games.. does that concern anyone?

Other than that, per 30 he's averaging
14.5ppg, 11rpg, 1.8bpg, and 2.2 TOpg

A little bit, but FIBA is stingy with assist numbers.

JV's a finisher 8-)

Let's wait to see how JV does in the QT. That's the time when no one is f***ing around, all of the teams are good, and coaches will play their best players many minutes.

If LTU wins the first game in the QT then that would be huge for JV's confidence as the worst they can finish is 4th. I think he can carry over his "winning" mindset over to Toronto. Statistically, him and Kalneitis have been LTU's best players and that's worth something in a tough European tournament.

Not at all, in this case numbers don't really tell the story. There are several reasons for it. FIBA stats are inaccurate at times, just remember game where he had 4 blocks and they noted just 2, same can be with assists. If receiving player takes a bit too much time to take a shot, assist is usually not given. Second, there were couple of his good passes that weren't converted (Seibutis in game against Serbs). And last, he doesn't get ball in the post in this Eurobasket. He only touches the ball when he receives it near the basket or grabs a rebound. So there are not many occasions where he can make a pass.

No surprise that he continues to play well. Despite the fifth most minutes, he leads the team in FTA, rebounds, blocks and is third in ppg and shooting 73% from the field.

I've yet to catch a game, but I've been following the boxscores.. can you tell me about Kalneitis? I find It's pretty rare to see a 6 assist 5 rebound SG in Int'l play.

Another important detail - he shoots Free throws 77 %. His stroke came back!

Kalnietis is a SG in SG's body, who have been forced to play PG since forever in NT. He's good playmaker for a shooting guard, not so much as point. Very good driver to the basket, inconsistent, although improved, shooter from outside. Sometimes makes dumbest desicions, while there are times when you see flashes of brilliance in his game. Basically, European Westbrook.

I'd say he's closer to a European Brandon Knight. I don't think he's much of a driver to the basket. He can use screens well to find space for his shot, but he's not physically imposing like Westbrook, nor is he good at drawing fouls. He doesn't have a breakdown handle, either.
