Todd Redman should be the long-man for next year and fill in for spot starts. He can be Carlos Villanueva 2.0.

Might as well stop watching. Cy Redmond has a 2 run lead.

I'm not sure about this whole Moises Sierra replacing Jose Bautista thing, you guys.

I'm not so sure about that quick hook for Redmond to replace him with McGowan (who wants to be a starter again but doesn't give a lot of clean innings in relief). Gibbons chose poorly.

We probably shouldn't trade Rasmus either. Just a thought. I don't really care how fast Gose runs anymore.

Agreed, although he was showing signs of weakening and he's always at risk of giving up a bomb.

I honestly believe that JPs goal is to be the worst hitter in the league

Davis always seems to hit one out opposite field here.

Be nice if we pitched him in.

With 0-for-3 tonight, JP Arencibia now batting .203, the lowest avg in the history of #BlueJays for hitters with min. 450 plate apps

I don't understand the aberration that is Todd Redmond. He definitely deserves a spot somewhere on this team next season, but I just can't see how he can be a legitimate rotation guy. He seems like the perfect long man/spot starter like former Jays great Brian Tallet.

After the Jays fell out of the race, I was mockingly hoping Arencibia's OBP dipped below .200, just for giggles. Looks like he will end up in .235-.245 OBP range by the end of the season, which is still ridiculously bad, but not "this will never be duplicated by anyone with 450+ PA ever again" bad.

Yeah, plus he's super cheap. The problem is they've already got a bunch of guys like him, including one to which AA has foolishly committed non-negligible money (HAAApp). AA somehow needs to clear out some dead - and expensive - weight in the rotation, while mixing in a few better (and cheaper) options and hopefully signing at least one more good dependable starter (what Johnson was supposed to be). With his recent track record and this off-season's free agent market, I'm not optimistic.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

If the Jays have another sub-par season, AA could very well be out of a job. I'd have to think he's going to do everything in his power to clear out dead weight even if he has to eat money. Rogers can't spend for one season and then give up when it doesn't work. We either need to be a spender or a mid-level spender. I'm fine either way as long as you choose a damn strategy. This whole, we'll spend when we're ready to contend **** should be left to leagues with salary caps.

Just got back from the Jays game. Sat in row 10 at 1st base and had a great view. My observations:

- I've never seen an outfielder who misreads the ball when it leaves the bat as badly as Sierra does - he's utterly clueless.
- Rasmus is the least of our worries and he had a nice game.
- Before Davis' HR, pretty much everyone in the ballpark was predicting #50 was coming
- With every pitching change, we asked "what the f*** is Gibby doing?" Why pull Redmond and why only give Santos 3 pitches?
- JPA is hands down the least popular Blue Jay - and its well-deserved

Other than that, a predictable loss - but I enjoy every visit to an MLB park - so I wasn't disappointed. Might catch one more game if I can.
